This is note for myself, not a debate topic though you are all welcome to read (and comment) if you like lengthy articles on nutrition. I was doing some research on impact of low carb diets on serotonin levels.

Very interesting article. I was once prescribe welbutrin anti-depressant as I was trying to quit smoking. I never took them, changed doctors, and then quit smoking through tapering off. Liked the point the article made about combining carbohydrates that boost serotonin with foods containing tryptophan. Counting my blessings that I've never had to deal with serious depression.

They mostly mention serotonin in connection with depression but it is responsible for a lot of other staff that is going on in our bodies. I am trying to somewhat limit carbs like any woman at my age should do but not to the point when it causes insomnia and some kind of major disruption. Insomnia is unfortunately another problem that worsens with age.
