I think intermittent fasting is what works for me... of course always with low carbs diet., we'll see next week.
220.0 lb Lost so far: 10.0 lb.    Still to go: 40.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Me too! At last a diet that works and has some good evidence to back it up. The principle is based on calorie restriction during fast periods (nominal 2 days out of 5 per week you eat 1/4 of your recommended daily calorie intake) and not eating calories beyond your Total Daily Calorie Allowance (which is based on your Age+weight+ height+BMI+exercise level)on your non fast days. So over the course of the week you have a calorie deficit. The longer the period between consumption of calories on your fast days creates a metabolic shift that increases the use of fat as an energy source-bonus. I think that the appeal is that it is physiologically appealing,very flexible and fits most lifestyles and does not dictate what you eat/deny food groups on non fast days so long as you eat no more than your nominated daily calorie intake. I think that the perfect fasting regime is still open so can be tailored to personal circumstances. I didn't weigh myself for the first 10 days, nor measure my waist but have lost but have lost 4.5kgs since 26 January 2017. My fast days are Monday and Thursday. I am careful not to go over my calorie allowance but do sometimes have a tipple when I go out for dinner. I think that I can easily sustain this lifestyle by dropping back to either one day a week or on a needs basis when I reach my goal weight (another 10kg). I

thank you for your comments... my fast days are Tuesday and Thursday...what is hard for me, are the weekends... when I encounter idle times is tough not to eat something or accompany my sons to eat out... It will just take more willpower to overcome those wekend's cravings...

Amen to IF and LCHF.. I'm losing quite well. Few ounces everyday mostly.

IF, lghf. its all a scam. ieat nearly 4000 cal a day, and over 400 carbs usually. tell me how do i lose weight then everyday

Okthen78- you are then one of the lucky ones! I wish that it were that easy for me. I think that different diets work for different people, we are all complex people with a wide range of habits, lifestyles, body mass and behaviour patterns. This one seems to be working for me. I will have my blood tests next month and will see if there has been any positive results for my high cholesterol and borderline diabetes.
