Feeling better today. Got a good workout in yesterday afternoon, and another good PT session before work today. I always feel much better when I start my day with strength training, and I find I do cardio/interval training better in the afternoons. Not gonna fight what works!

School has picked up again, so that's keeping me really busy. Two courses in addition to working full-time plus finding time to workout leaves me with little free time. Which is kinda good, since my free time usually leads to mindless snacking.

Also itching to get my tax return. The smart part of my brain is telling me to just throw it into savings. The fun part of my brain is telling me to buy another bike.... I have two currently. One is a Trek FX that works well for bopping around town, doing grocery shopping, and getting to work. The other is the the Trek Emonda ALR, which I love for longer day rides. It's super light and quick, and the handling is great. It's moderately comfortable, but it got pretty painful towards the end of my 500 mile week last summer. Plus, I can't load it up with much gear. A saddle bag is pretty much it.

Soooo, therefore I obviously need a touring bike! :D Something that's quicker than my FX, but more comfortable than the ALR, that I can load up with gear to go for a week-long trip by myself. I'd love to be able to pack a tent and everything and just take off for a week.

But, I'd need to find space to put it. And it wouldn't be cheap. Ugh. Being a responsible adult is hard.

Perhaps look at your seat, tyre pressure and wheels (carbon vs aluminium) also bar tape and shammy. Tweak these combos and you should have a more comfortable ride on longer trips

The other issue though is that it's not designed to carry heavy loads, and can't even support a rear rack. (I keep trying to justify a new bike, haha!) Looking at building one now. There aren't really any touring bikes designed for women, and rather than swapping out my handlebars and shifters and saddle and stem, I think I might just start from scratch.

Good job, you remind me of my younger years. Always taking on a lot. That leads to success. Rome wasn't built in a day. That is cool you are into the bike riding. I have a heavy traveled path next to our house. Good luck with it all. It will payoff for you.

Maybe you can do both? Split the tax return and save up for the other half of the bike? Either way, additional money is -always- a nice thing to have.
