My Fasting Blood Sugar was high again 220 this morning after only eating a total of 45gms of carbs all day yesterday, and taking my meds last night, weight is down to 227.2....Total of 11.4 lbs lost sense my diagnoses on Dec 15th....So I am Happy about that, Looking towards the next 10 lbs :-)

Diet Calendar Entry for 04 January 2012:
1136 kcal Fat: 71.22g | Prot: 86.11g | Carb: 35.75g.   Breakfast: scrambled egg product, bacon. Lunch: Grilled Chicken (Skin Not Eaten), Spring Mix Salad, Real Mayonnaise, Cheddar Cheese. Dinner: Egg Noodles (Enriched, Cooked), Grilled Chicken. Snacks/Other: cucumber, sliced chicken, pickle wedges, cream cheese. more...

have you seen a dietitian yet. I had gestational diabetes with my last pregnancy and my dietitian helped so much. She taught me what to eat and when to eat it.

I was a GD also many years ago (13) So I already knew the basics. Funny part of all this is I work for a Community Clinic in a local Emergancy room here, and the people I work closest with are the ones who do Diabetes Education, So when I was Diagnosed the case manager/educator gave me lots of info, told me how many carbs per meal and snack and that was about it. I spoke with her this morning and she of course suggested exercise, So me and the hubby are heading to the gym tonight after work. And one of the PA's here is gonna give me a book she thinks will really help. If all this doesn't work when I go to my follow up appointment on the 18th I'm gonna ask to be reffered to a different education class.

try adding some lemon to your diet i have heard that it slows something to do with sugar. dont know if its true or not.
