Donna Mashburn's Journal, 04 January 2017

Weighed this morning and it was up a pound. I have decided that because my weight fluctuates so much, it would be better for me to weigh just once a week. I'm picking Mondays.
After my morning chores, I put on my workout clothes and hit the gym with Bob and Jillian; boot camp and super cardio; kicked my butt! Still sore from yesterday's workout; I'm not used to all the pushups and planks--my chest and arms are talking to me!
I'm grateful to this site for turning me onto FitMess. I LOVE having my FS site link up with my Fitbit site. SO much easier! Thank you! Fitbit is helping me keep up with my sleep, water and steps much more closely. All three are up. Last night I went out to the treadmill at 11:30 to finish off my 10,000 steps for the day; I was at 8300. Hopefully, I will stay on track.
And another thing--I was able to stay positive during the workout. I changed my thinking from "Darn, must I?" to "Grateful for the opportunity". And instead of thinking "video", I thought of "going to the gym and working out with friends"--It's a start....

Good idea about weighing once a week! I've had eating disorders in the past and can get really obsessed with my weight so I try not to weigh every day because I get so discouraged by little fluctuations.

I had to laugh at the 11:30 trip to the treadmill! The other night I was jogging around the dining room table, thru the front room, into the living room to get to goal steps! My husband thinks I'm nuts!

Good idea about weighing once a week, but I'd suggest reconsidering! If you don't weigh every day, how will you know that the one time you measure that day isn't just a fluctuation. Continue to weigh every day, but sweat the trend not the absolute measure each day.

What?! You can sync your FitBit with FS? This just made my day. Heading to FitMess to link the two. Thank you for sharing!! And I think weighing in once a week is a great idea. Weighing in every day would be too much of an emotional rollercoaster.

You might find, that eating a certain something causes you to hold water if you weigh every day, mild food sensitivity maybe. My wife doesnt like to weigh every day either, but I like to see if maybe I ate something weird that caused an extra pound or so.

Rckc-- I laughed at your response also. I have made quite a few of those 'round the house treks to get my steps. The dog looks at me like I'm crazy! 1700 steps are just too many for the kitchen, though!
