Tomorrow. Day One of diet. New year, fresh start, right?

Goal: 40 pounds by June 2nd, my wedding.

Routine: 1800-1900 calories daily intake, exercise on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sundays.

Weigh In: Every Sunday.

Motivation: Look good in wedding dress. Not horrify my family when they haven't seen me in awhile and see me at my wedding, and not horrify future family members when I meet the bulk of my fiance's family at the wedding.

I've read that it takes three whole weeks of the same routine to get that routine to stick and transform into your new daily lifestyle. I also recently read that your tastebuds regrow every two weeks, so if you can just not eat the sugary, processed foods you crave for two weeks, after the new tastebuds appear, you won't crave them. Also, it takes that long for your body to cleanse itself of its addiction to sugar and/or processed foods, which give your body a physical high.

So, three weeks. Three weeks is what I need to make it through to hopefully make this routine stick. On January 21st, if I have been a good little girl, I'm treating myself to an afternoon spa day, including a massage or facial, hair cut and style, pedi/mani, eyebrow waxing, and makeup application.

Here's to motivation! Here's to my last night in old habits! Here's to my last night feeling physically awful! Here's to my last night of worry that I'm disappointing others by not believing in myself! Here's to confidence! Here's to self love!

Here goes nothing!
