I really hated to put that new weight. However, I don't feel it is entirely accurate for a couple of reasons. First, i have some swelling, prob 2+ pitting edema. If i were to guess, based on past experience, i have about 3-4 lbs in water retention. Secondly, considering that 1 pound of fat is 3500 calories, i seriously doubt that i had an extra 17, 500 calories above my daily requirements this week. So while i'm not happy to see that number, I think it's important to keep it in perspective.

Now, on to my mental/emotional state. I stayed home from work Wednesday night and Thursday night. I spent some good time with Matthew and got a lot of rest. It's amazing how much that helps one's thinking. I feel very centered and balanced. Also, i got the heat fixed (the unit has been broken since Sept), and it feels good to not be living like a pauper.

Yesterday when i weighed, the number was even higher. I thought, 'why i am waiting to eat right?' And while i didn't journal my food, i did very well. If i had to guess, i would say i did perfectly, except for 1.5 biscuits and a swallow of orange juice at breakfast. It felt good to do so well without trying, and i feel good about things.

I want to say a special thanks to those of you that have been supportive thru thick and thin (and thick again!). The kind words esp touched my heart. If there's anything i can ever do, let me know.

There are so many things that can affect your weight. You're absolutely right. I'm sure it'll bounce back in a few.
