No walking for exercise today. Helped out with the Christmas Eve programs at church today and the head of that committee set out a nice little brunch for us all. Fortunately, she had made a spinach quiche that was nearly identical to Atkins-approved recipes for same! She told us all the ingredients just in case someone had a food allergy. She also put out strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and bananas, along with some mixed nuts. Except for the bananas, fruit juice, and a sugary yogurt dressing for the fruit, it was completely Atkins-friendly! No problems skipping the off-plan stuff.

I dropped off the last of the Angel Tree gifts I was working on yesterday and then finished up the last 2 shipments of gifts to friends and family, taking them to the FedEx place in time for the 4PM pick-up today. Now, I can take a bit of a breath, get my food logged in here and then tackle the household chores I've neglected the last few days. Oh, and get a few things ready for DH's birthday, as well. But, in broad terms, the more time-consuming part of Christmas prep is done - WHEW!!!!

The nuts at brunch today got me going and I snarfed down a couple handfuls when I got home. I promise myself - and to all you out there - no more peanuts today. My body is holding out on dropping the current pound and taking peanut liberties does not help. This is the tough time for me....when the pound is about to drop but it takes longer than I expect it to...then I want to treat myself in some way for being good and doing what I should be doing. I need to watch that mentality and turn it in another direction.

I expected to be at 150 by 12/15 and I'm at 153. Not the end of the world, but it's an indication that I need to be more watchful and put forth a bit more effort. In contrast to that focus, I know that I will be having my favorite pizza on Christmas Eve - and I WILL be partaking of it! This is the same as I did last year and it's my first off-plan eating since the Super Bowl earlier this year; also a planned off-plan event.

Sandy - I am happy that you had a brunch that you could actually enjoy. Sometimes those nuts are lifesavers and sometimes they are the devil in disguise. Hope you get a nice stress free and relaxing week before Christmas - you certainly have earned it.
