Guess what time it is!?

It's time for The King to register a new, lowest weigh-in! AND it's only Thursday!

I'm amazed how fast things are going this week - I guess it's simply because it's been slow the last few weeks and now that I am doing more exercise, and being a little more focused again make my body release the weight that was building up. Looking at my fat percentage on my smart smart scale, I see that it's still pretty low - which is usually a sign of more weight loss to come. I wouldn't be surprised if I can record a new low on Saturday - especially after the concert.

Which reminds me - THE SHOES ARE IN THE HOUSE! I know you have all - especially Mom2 - been holding your breath on this. "What will he chose?" has been the question most commonly asked around here lately. I'm surprised that there aren't websites and forums dedicated to this topic by now. LOL.

Well, there were three conditions that had to be met.

1. Black shoes to fit the look/colors.
2. Cheap - I'm on a budget here and shoes cost a fortune in Denmark.
3. I have to be comfortable, as they will be used again and again.

I originally was pretty hooked on the Converse idea. I know they're not very comfortable for me, so I was pretty sure I'd NOT end up with them - but they would have looked awesome - especially with a checkered black/white pattern or something like that. Anyways, I looked at the prices and tried a few on. HIGHLY uncomfortable! NEVER gonna happen. Oh, and it seems I lied to you guys about the price. I claimed they'd be around $100 here in Denmark. Sorry, they're not. Depending on the style, they're $150-200! That is ridiculous!

So anyways, I ended up with some affordable black Dockers steel-toes. They look kinda working man-ish (duh) but at the same time they have a cool, black leather look. They're über-comfortable, and I pushed them down to 1/3 of the original price. If I could only have done that with the "cool" shoes! Sadly, they don't go on sale. Too popular.

So now I have the full look ready. I just need a jacket to have a full suit, but that'll have to wait until another time. No money for that in December. I kinda like the "no-jacket" look anyways, and it would be too hot for comfort playing music live.

I will, however, be attending my brother's 50th b-day in May, and I would like to buy my jacket for that, to have a full suit. Since I am so close to my goal, I'm expecting to fit the whole thing at that time too. I don't think I'll change much more when it comes to pants sizes.

And yes - you will get a picture. I saw that I inadvertently hi-jacked a forum thread in the community, people asking for a pic of me in the suit. I'll make sure to have some taken Friday. Keep your eyes peeled on my journal over the weekend or maybe Monday, and you'll get to see it. If I can find the Forum thread again, I'll post there too. I'm really excited about this whole suit thing - it's a VERY FIRST for me. I think I like it.

Today's exercises were tough. My legs are still a little mushy from walking/running at the gym yesterday - I pushed myself just a tad harder than normal, and I can feel it now. I did good though. I did the full hour as intended. And this morning I did my full 30 mins exercise. For once, I decided to count my pushups - I did 34! WOW! I had no idea I could do this many! Things change SO much when you lose weight. It's incredible.

I have started noticing new changes in my body. One is my shoulder blades. I am now at the point where I am getting REALLY bony. It's weird. But now it's not only a visual thing - I can actually feel that my shoulder blades feel different under the skin. It simply feels like there is more room for them. I suppose the fat kinda gets in the way? Does that even make sense? It feel like I just maneuver way more smoothly. I had no idea that this would happen.

Oh, and FUNNY self discovery yesterday. This one is about my belly button. LOL. As most other overweight people, I have a pretty deep belly button. Losing weight has not changed this, as my skin is sagging, and just hanging. This is why I need the surgery that I am working on qualifying for. However, yesterday I kinda dug into the belly button, and took a good look. Normally, I just wash in there when I shower, and don't pay much attention to it.

It turns out that I THINK that if I had not been overweight, I would have had an "outie" and not an "innie". Who knew? LOL. I am discovering the weirdest thing. I always thought that "outies" looked weird. I have to make sure to tell the surgeons to make me an innie when they operate. They will literally move my belly button, so I'm gonna ask if they take requests. :)

Today, I am thankful that
- I finally got my shoes!
- I get to catch up on some extra work that accumulated on the job.
- Lee Shelly for writing super nice things about me!
- All the new buddy requests that I have gotten (probably because of Lee).
- The fact that I reached a new low.

Have a great day, everyone! Life is good!

Congrats on the personal record.. and finding shoes! I love your positive outlook. I have tried to make that switch to morning workouts a few times and it never caught on. I am a night person. Perhaps I need to revisit that soon.

You posts should have a warning on top:dont read while drinking, tea or coffe will come snorting out your nose all over everything around you(in my case breakfast). The bellybutton thing:are you saying our level of fatness decide if it in or out?

YAY for a new low on a Thursday??? How awesome is that???!!! I love hearing about your new "discoveries" as you become accustomed to this smaller version of your body. It is truly amazing what kinds of things we notice about ourselves. Your "outfit" sounds great ... can't wait to to see the final pictures but I DID LIKE the pink shirt!!! LOL!! Have a wonderful day. Thank you for your support and encouragement. I still feel like a "newbie" with this way of eating but seeing your progress encourages me to stick with it!!

Yeah on the new low! It's inspiring to read your journal. Great workouts and 37 push ups! New discoveries, very interesting. Glad to hear the shoes are purchased. I am one that will be smiling when you upload the pic of you in the suit. I love looking at before and after shots. I saw your before on a forum and will love to see the difference in that one and the one in the suit, especially now that you have a new low =) I almost forgot the "What I am Thankful for" on my journal. Love the idea so I'm adding it.

158.3 pounds lost!!!! That's incredible!! So you might have explained this before, but how do you "qualify" for the surgery that you are hoping for? However it works, I hope it happens for you! You deserve it!! Look at how far you've come, it's absolutely inspiring. No wonder there are so many people here that follow you and want to hear about your story and learn from your experiences.. Happy Lowest-Weight day to you!!! :)

Erika - To have the skin removal surgery, my BMI has to be 25 or less. This equals 77 kgs for me. So, basically, when it's time for that evaluation in mid march, I gotta weigh 77 kgs the most. It's as simple as that. In my head, I am already done, but this is a goal I HAVE to meet. And feeling the way I do, and seeing how relatively easy weight still is coming off, I have no real issues with it. :)

i quite like the idea of getting rid of the excess skin, though will have to pay for it...ouch. If I can only afford one (and that will be tough) surgery I think it would be my arms. They have always been disproportionately large and are looking saggy these days....the belly skin can get rolled up an stuffed in my knickers...but the arm skin will just get in the way and going sleeveless will be tough mentally. Well done on the new lowest ever Keld XX

Congrats on the new low! You look like your BMI is much lower than 25 already! But if not, you'll make it for certain! I am amazed that you've lost as much as you have in one year. I hope I can do the same!
