Cleaning up
First came the chaos, then the decoration :-)

It is always the same and no, I am not under stress. As Stef said yesterday, "I am like a crow....I like bright, shiny things!" I am not much different. But it is a hassle to get there. Every time I have the best intentions, have a plan and end up in chaos.
I brought the boxes with my Christmas stuff from the attic Friday night and started looking through them to develop some plan.
Yesterday then I got started. The little Christmas tree needed some trimming, I wanted some window decoration so it look nice form the outside. And one obstacle after the other. Windows should be clean and shiny when you decorate them. Not too long ago that I cleaned mine but I decided they needed another wash over and once at it I went all the way around... not really necessary.
Fine, that done i discovered that I don't have any thumb tacks.. off to the store, 8 mi to go, just wasting time. Then things went fine. Windows decorated, timers set, now the big clean up. That will take some time but I will manage, a thing at a time.

No news about the little rascal. I have not heard anything in the basement and the trap is empty. Maybe I got lucky and it went out yesterday while I kept the basement door open. I'll keep you all posted.

As for the diet, still going low carb, a little bit distracted right now and not recording everything.

Paula, it is done and I can sleep well. Will not do it before spring again so it is quite a good feeling. As for sleeping not knowing if the squirrel is still in the basement... it is in the basement and there is no way for it to get into the living area.of course it would be possible but that would take quite a while, even for a squirrel and would not go unnoticed. Since it was all the way up the stairs I keep on knocking against the door to the basement before I open it(which is ALWAYS locked). Somehow I got the impression that it might be sitting behind it begging to come in here because it is so frightened and hungry *lol*

Jozette, you and I are alike in that one little chore develops into ten more....I too would have cleanned the windows. We are having 11 house guests over the holiday and I have virtually cleaned every nook and cranny...every closet, every drawer, every corner, every ceiling fan, etc. And I won't be doing it again for a while... As far as the squirrel...did you get a live cage? When I lived in civilization, the animal control people would bring in a cage and help with the capture. I am sure out here in the wilderness, people would just pull out a gun and finito.... We don't have squirrels in our town...maybe there is more to the absence of squirrels than just geographic location.:)))) Have a great week.

Gwen - Holiday decoration and clean up done. As for the squirrel, of course I got a life trap. One of my neighbors offered hers when she read about it on FB. Nice. Anyway, I set the trap on Saturday and a the same time I kept the basement door open. Since nothing has been cuaght in the trap until now I am sure it found its way out. As for location, no animal control out here, I am practically living in the middle of the woods ( a lot them in CT), so not unusual to see a squirrel. And you are right. The friend who helped me on Monday night with the furnace said, when we encountered the little critter, "would be an easy shot if I would have my pellet gun." Not in my house though! Gwen, you have a great week too :-)
