3.1 miles walked today with my ancient (SO-out-of-date) cassette player!

I found the relic going through some boxes and just had to put in new batteries and see what I had on the tape. Great walking music!!! Gloria Estefan's "Get on Your Feet," among other songs, had me half-dancing down the street. I truly think I walked faster!

The only downside is that I can't hear anything else, which is a safety concern. While my player is decidedly outdated, I do have the most awesome earbuds that block out everything except the music. I walked facing the little traffic that comes through, but just about walked up on an off-leash dog lounging in someone's front yard! I couldn't tell if he barked or growled - NOT good - but we managed to abruptly cross the street and the dog didn't follow us (my 2 doggies were with me at that point).

So for the future, I might just use the music when I'm walking by myself and not walking my doggies. I need my sense of hearing the outside world if the doggies are along.

Great job on the work. You made me laugh with the player. Maybe you can look at it as an extra weight, since they are heavier then the mp3 players out there now. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Sirick. Hopefully no one saw me have to stop and take out the tape and flip it over to play the second side!! LOL!!

LOL, cassette players...those might even be considered a relic? Can a new one even be purchased anymore? Maybe some cheap earbuds would be a nice compromise? Having music to move your feet to probably did have you moving faster! Good job on the walking, the doggies enjoy too!
