Bad week. This was my weigh in from Monday. I'm going to try to explain the past 2 weeks so I can remember that life is what happens while you're making other plans.
I have to tear out my pool, the patio and the surrounding gardens along with some sections of fence. When we opened the pool this Spring the stairs had buckled from frost heaves. We studied the problem all Summer to decide what to do. We consulted every expert we could find for advice. We finally decided to rebuild the whole thing. It's a huge project. It was supposed to be complete in August, but here we are, today, pouring the concrete. It's very exciting but stressful too. There is still lots more construction before the project is complete, but I can see progress. My yard looks like chaos and it will probably be a year before everything is settled.
Last week my sister and her husband visited from Montreal Canada. she and I have been really close our whole lives. More recently though, she has been disgusted and ashamed of me b/c of my weight. I hosted a dinner party last Tuesday night for them, and I ate gravy, mashed potato and peach crisp. Then on Wednesday night my Brother hosted a 70th birthday party for another sister. Although I skipped the lasagna and ate the salad and meatballs, I did eat the birthday cake.
In the meantime, my book club and Bible Study group has started and I have a ton of reading to keep up with. During last week my husband and I had to come to agreement on the layout of the new patio. While the excavator was tearing out the old patio, we discovered that our wisteria vine growing over our deck and arbor, the roots (about 4" circumference) had been growing under the patio heading towards the pool. Ahha, maybe the homeowners insurance will chip in some financial help. Not.
On the weekend ,my husband and I were selling honey at a local church festival. We harvested about 200 pounds of honey this year (our best year ever). Mealtimes were skewed. I wasn't supposed to go to the festival, but hubby hurt his back and I was uncomfortable leaving him alone. His booth was beside the ladies baked goods table. I had to stare at those goodies for two days. Not good for me. I started eating peanuts on Saturday. Oh no. Sunday, after the Festival, I had to take my husband to the ER at the VA. Oh boy was that torture. Six hours waiting for a ten minute exam. Muscle spasms from digging rocks out of the pool gardens. I didn't get to bed until 3:00 AM. FINISHED OFF THE PEANUTS.
I've been doing the best I can since Monday with hubby on the couch. (He typically does all the cooking and shopping). Finally my friend from Maine came for an overnight visit on Tuesday. She left yesterday afternoon at 2:00 PM. I received a frantic call from my daughter at 2:10. Could I run my grandson up to the dentist office. She had forgotten that he had an appointment.
One more adventure added in for fun, my daughter brought home a new little kitten to replace the beautiful cat we lost a few weeks ago.
So there you have it. Busy, busy busy. Starting today, back on track...logging and back on plan. Please Lord, keep me focused. 🙏

You are blessed with an active, energetic life couched in a community of people you care about. Your sister is a bit judgey, but we can't choose our relatives, right? Glad hubby is OK and that daughter knows she can count on you. It's all good except for a blip in your fat loss journey. You will figure it out - because you are a doer, not just a planner.

Wow! To only pick up 5 lbs during all that isn't too bad. You know what to do and will have it back off soon. You can do this!
