Sedentary2's Journal, 19 September 2016

June 19, blood sugars of 115 before breakfast and 70 before lunch show that my body is giving up the extra sugar it was hoarding in the liver. Weight it up 3 lbs although I stuck to my diet, but that happens of various reasons, and is usually nothing but water retention: excessive salt or incipient loose stool, etc. It's possible that yoghurt is causing it although I am not as intolerant of it as I am of a regular milk and ice cream.. Tomorrow and the next day non dairy breakfast might cause that water retention to go away. The fact is, for a type two, keeping the blood sugar and blood pressure down almost always is accompanied by weight loss. BP yesterday was 123/80. I am continuing to take an extra half atenolol until blood pressure becomes normal again.

It had been running 158/88 while I took melexocam, and has stayed high after I quit until it began to go down Sunday, a week after getting off the anti-irritant drug.

Knee continuing to improve very gradually--stairs are still a trial. Plantar fasciitis in heel is still continuing, binding with tape may or may not have helped. Night time boot supposed to arrive today. Maybe it can help.. But two people with Plantar fasciitis tell me that the one year (described on line as being what it takes to heal) is probably a reality. One simply learns to live with it. Long walks are not on, at this point. I made the mistake of wearing flip-flops for the first time in years in May and June of this year and I think that set it off. Losing weight will help both the knee and the heel. Age and overweight are hard on all parts of the body.

Sounds like you need a good pair of shoes and orthotics. Binding with tape and night time boot will only offer temporary relief. Just keep on pushing that weight down and that should help with your knees and feet. Flip-flops are no good for anyone's feet especially someone with your problems. You got this.
