Today is my first day of the Wheat Belly 10-day detox. No grains or sugars for 10 days ought to kick start this thing. Had a massive disgusting sugar hangover after an unruley Labor day family feast. I have to admit it was kind of on purpose because I've been studying about this diet all week and knew I'd start today. Whether the culprit is wheat or sugar doesn't really matter does it? But they're both going to be cut down drastically in my future. I am just plum tired of being bloated and fat. I feel like I'm always looking in the mirror and saying, "This is NOT who I am." Anyone else feel the same?

Best decision you could possibly make! They've been out of my life for 5 months, and I've never felt as good as I do now.

I feel you Kimberly! that's the reason I started too. This just wasn't me... good job. I can tell you that by winning the battle to "the King Stomach" makes you more disciplined in other areas too... congratulations for starting!!!

Mine is and was 'is this how I want to look and feel with my grandkids. I want to be involved with them.' There have been many setbacks but I have not gone back to original weight, thank God. I look at it as a journey.

Let's hope that you find yourself amazed and energized! I've been living almost completely grain and sugar free for 5 years: lost 70 lbs, and will never go back, because I feel so much healthier and happier! Loved that book by the way.

I thought of getting wheat belly, the book, but have not yet. How strict is it? I feel like we really KNOW what we're doing here, it's just a matter of making the healthiest choice at every turn, and setting ourselves up for success with a plan. Step 1 (having been back to step 1 many times now together, right?) is about FEELING the yucky-ness of making the unhealthy choice and being aware of the harm it causes to our bodies & minds. Yoga teacher Amy mentioned it one time, speaking of it as a self-inflicted wound, which seems like a stretch, but why is it so different? You've got this, sister!!!!😊

We had a pretty glutinous weekend as well. Not as bad as our usual weekends up north with Eric's parents, but still bad. No biggie. We've done this long enough to know that we can get right back on that horse. And we do. My plan is to do smoothie lunches. So far, so good, now that I have my new NutriBullet 900!

I think my whole month of August was a series of self inflicted wounds 😡 I did NOT want to stop eating wheat, but I really wanted to lose weight, so I had to. Look forward to seeing your numbers go down as well ☺

Lady, I truly did NOT want to stop eating wheat either, but I DID want to slip into something more comfortable, if you know what I mean. When I'm overweight, slipping into clothing doesn't seem the right term.

I've been going up and down since July- too much vacation- too many fun weekends away and a trip out east.....so now that school is back in session, and my kids are in school, it's possible for me to get very serious about my health. I started the Hormone Reset Diet three days ago......for 21 days you go through a series of eliminating certain foods....ie, Day 1-3 was eliminating beef and alcohol, and then each three days you take something else away,- basically adding onto the first thing you took away- tomorrow its' no sugar....and so on- you're also watching your carbs<50, protein between 76-125, lots of water, a pound of veggies per day. I'm loving that I can pre-load my diet in fat secret and play with my carbs and protein, etc. Makes life a lot easier.

Hey, writergal, I think you could be onto something. Pre-loading your meal plan and then you have to go in and modify it. If you stick to the plan, it's easier. I haven't logged in my food in quite a while. Looking back in my weight history, I've actually lost weight in real numbers and reasonable time periods in the past. I think it's time to get more serious and get where I wanna be intead of waffling around. Good luck to all of you!
