CatHerder's Journal, 22 July 2016

I've been doing a lot of reading on nutrition and dieting. This included studies, blogs, videos, tweets and reddit. There is a lot of information out there, mostly unsupported.

My cut ended up being a recomp. Oh well. I have been fighting gastric issues for the past couple of months mistaking pain for hunger which has lead to some binges. I finally found out the issue yesterday in the ER. I have gall stones and need to have my gall bladder removed. Oh what fun!

The results of my latest efforts have been a weight increase while decreasing my measured bodyfat to under 14.5% based on 7 point readings. So I have to say it was a good recomp. I've been debating posting my progress photos. Below are the photos for what it's worth.

For now I need to eat a bland diet. I'm going to try to just maintain weight as I won't be able to be too active.

I hope everyone has a great day and weekend!

Great to hear from you, and the photos are fantastic, you really look great! I'm sorry to hear about your gall bladder, but it's good that you found out what the problem is before it gets critical. All the best for your op. Do keep exercising as much as you can, though. We do lose condition very quickly as we get older, and it takes a while to build it up again.

Wow, thanks for posting the photos. It's nice to see your results which really are fantastic. You, Northernmusician and Jimmie making me think I need to focus more on the strength training. Too bad about the galltones, you'll feel much better once that's taken care of.

@jmb3450 I can't decide if I like the weights more than running. I started the weights about 6 months ago when I strained a hamstring. Now I'm back to running while nursing a back injury. I guess I like them both so I'll be trying to maintain both after my surgery and see how it works out. I'm an exercise junkie now. Give me endorphins!
