Ok, time to quit smoking. For the past four years I've smoked about a half a pack of camel filters a day. Prior to that I had been an ex smoker for four years prior to that I smoked when I was about 14. Anyway- cold turkey, 25 hours no smoking. I do want to eat a lot though. I don't know if I will finish body beast right now, I just want to focus on this. I quit for 17 days in Jan but gave in. I wanted this year to be, "No Nicotine in 2016." Well, never too late. I keep thinking of that quote Today I want to be the healthiest version of me. Here we go wish me luck. My skin will look so much better right??!! That's probably why I think I need a lift!!

Hi Misty! It is really difficult to quit, without patches, I believe. This has a lot parallels to dieting also. Nicotine in your blood is like insulin in your bloodstream, that is messaging cravings for more nicotine, in this case. Smoking has a lot of real harmful side effects, that people don't even acknowledge, or are aware of. I believe, the WORST, is what it does to your teeth. Teeth maintenance these days with marginal insurance gets frighteningly expensive. My wife learned that lesson, and she doesn't smoke. I give you credit for trying to quit. Smoking is still a huge health problem. Good luck, I'm rooting for you!

Cold turkey is the way to go. After 4 days, you've got it beat. Just don't give in to even one puff. If I had a puff today, I'd be smoking a pack and a half a day by Saturday. I still have a occasional itch to smoke. Sometimes I'll catch the smell from someone smoking and it smells so good. I'm fifteen years a non smoker.

I'll make it. I've got this. It's high time. Shoot I puff on an inhaler sometimes then go smoke. Terrible. Not going to be that person anymore. I just can't afford it health wise. 25 hours now and everyone is still alive lmao. The junk food and chips and pop r still here so, I think I'm ok.

It seems to be a choice of weight or health too. Food tastes a lot better, when you don't smoke. Better fatter, than dead.

Camel filters are a good call. I was partial to Winston Red, gave up about the same time I quit recreational alcoholism. Might have had something to do with why I got so fat. Nah, I just freaking loved eating garbage. You can do it! Just look in the mirror, IRON Lady, you can do anything!

good decision, when my mom decided to quit smoking she gained a lot of weight, but she was craving more for whole milk so that´s why she ended up gaining 20 pounds that year, then she went back to smoking now dealing with the weight and nicote :( I wish she had the same strong will as you do. I´ll support you on this.

Cold turkey. Nicotine replacements keep you addicted to nicotine. I've been a non smoker for ten years. Think of how much better your muscle gains will be fully oxygenated!

Good luck, Misty. I quit 8.5 years ago, and only this year stopped having urges. I did use the patch for about three months cutting down on those gradually. I think it was by far, the hardest thing I've accomplished. 42 years @ 2 packs a day. Sending prayers 🙏 💖

Stock up on some celery sticks. When the cravings begin, munch on a celery stick -- it gives you something to put in your mouth, the crunchiness seems to help, and the added calories are neglible. Supposedly, the added weight from quitting is only about 5lb.with any more caused by overeating. With your attitude, I'm sure you will make it!! Good luck!

Quitting is the hardest thing you can ever do because of the addictive ingredients according to my doctor. To quit smoking health benefits far out weigh a host of "other" things....like losing weight. I haven't smoked for about thirteen years. So now I must lose the weight. Thirty pounds ,but I will do it. Look what you have already done! You know you can do this too! Go for it Misty!!!!

Your mom smoked 4packs a day at one time in her life! Your dear dad gave me a choice. Him or the smokes! One time in my life I didnt challenge him! Best decision I ever made! Cold turkey is the way to go! Otherwise you will just make excuses to do it another day.. Just one more day goes on and on.. So very proud of you! Its hard but well worth it! Reap the rewards girl!! I love ya
