Christinemeowk's Journal, 16 June 2016

Haha Yahtzee!!! I just had the most incredible
workout at the gym so far and I dropped a pound even after dropping my obsessive restrictions.

Lastnight for dinner I had wings while my family ate pizza. Well guess what? I wanted some damn pizza too... so I took a couple bites and it was sooooo good and I frickin loved and appreciated the mess out of every chew I chewed before swallowing the yum to my belly. I then added 1/4 slice of pizza to my food journal and managed to come in just under 20 net carbs for the day! Go me! Lol

I really think I've been going at this all wrong this whole time and I think it may be time for me to let go of the obsessive Atkins ways.

When I was working at Walmart stocking on 3rd shift I ate like shit but still lost weight from all the physical activity I was doing. I don't see any reason why I can't see the same if not better results from working out and including food from ALL the food groups.

Like seriously screw Atkins restrictions. It's summertime and homegirl wants to enjoy some fresh fruit, and buttered corn and some motherlovin potato salad.. along with many other things like a normal human being.

I refuse to be afraid of any food any longer!!!!

Being intimidated by something that will turn into 💩 is no way to live!

I'm still going to try and not go overboard on carbs and avoid things with added sugar... but I'm not going to have my life revolve around it.

I'M FREEEEEEEEE 😁👐💗

Oh poop! I guess when you change your diet it changes your starting weight and color bar over. I was so close to my first color change! *flips table* haha oh well. I'd rather stay sane and be able to eat than see the color

I agree with silly restrictions. Watch your calories, keep active to maintain a deficit and you'll lose weight.

Thanks Diablo and CatHerder! As delicious as Atkins is I can't see myself living like that for the rest of my life. I can however see myself continuing to exercise and watch how much I'm putting in my mouth on a daily basis.

Sounds like you are on to something. Keep it up and don't beat yourself up if there is a temporary spike in the scale here and there. Great job.

Thanks Ches! I'm lifting weights now too, so the scale and I have come to a "agree to disagree" arrangement. That number is no longer a worry of mine. 😁

Key for me is trusting the numbers and living by the mirror over the scale. I haven't had a scale loss in close to 45 days but I keep looking better. The recomp is real.

I hear ya. If it weren't for the challenge I'm in I wouldn't even be weighing for the time being.

I've made naked pizza to avoid the carbs from the dough. The toppings are the best part anyway. Just use a baking dish and add sauce, your favorite toppings and cheese. Then bake until bubbly. Voila!

Been there done that... it's not the same. I'm much happier having smaller amounts of actual things than their lesser attractive sister foods. Substitutes are fine short term, but I plan on eating for the rest of my life and there's no way I can just avoid certain foods forever. That's just crazy to me. Not only that, but I cannot WILL NOT set myself up for cycles of regret for "cheating" when nothing should be off limits to begin with. I'm done with having food issues! I just wish it didn't take me so damn long to get to this point in my life 😊

Sometimes situations have you eating things you wouldn't normally eat. Like for my dads brithday I had a slice of cake. Normally I would make a paleo cake...but I didnt have the time. Being able to work around it and live a little is key. I now have wine on the weekends with my BF on saturday nights. Love it and is relaxing. I notice diets with strict rules help me like a 30 days challenge. But they are so restrictive that once the diet challenge is over...idk what to do with myself! Then I usually fall off my healthy plan for two weeks. It is almost not worth doing the challenge. I am currently eating paleo and my main goal is to not eat any grains. NO matter what. That is my only restriction that I am going to be strict with. I got real sick eating pasta a while back and I hate the way my joints feel after eating grain. But with other stuff? I dont restrict dark chocolate and fruit. I even indulge in a little bit of cheese now and then. You will find you are more able to stick to a plan when you can enjoy it.

I felt your freedom and joy! ;) I see you meeting your goal too!

Yeah. I was enjoying Atkins but it's not realistically sustainable. Avoiding certain foods for the rest of my life is a definite deal breaker. Lol

Me LOL too! Go-go-girl!

Haha I just ate a fried egg and cheese sandwich on bread that was toasted in the pan grilled cheese style and it was the most glorious thing ever, and it was guilt free! 😂
