So basically I am at a point where my weight is just at a stand still. Haven't gained or lost, the weird thing my clothes feel a bit more loose. I was told you can lose inches and it will not show on the scale... Any who, I am considering gastric RNY. I thought about this long and hard. I think this is something I may need to do because I have been up and down with my weight for so long and I can no longer take it. I have done my research and took my first step to filling out the form. Got a call from the nurse and we will be setting up an appointment for a consultation and to see if I am a candidate for it. I have severe panic disorder, so i am very scared about going under. I am tired of my hypothyroid issues as well, not sure if that'll go away once I lose weight, but I never had it before until I got heavy. I am tired of being depressed. I truthfully can say that being overweight is about 80% the cause of my depression. I love to be active. I love doing fun out doorsy stuff and working out, but my weight gives me limits sometimes and I no longer can deal with it. I am this fit girl trapped in a obese body screaming to get out. for a big girl I also have a lot of muscle tone, I used to always work out and be very active, involved in sports etc.... my more younger years, and though I never in my life was smaller than a size 10, I still was fit. I have a prominent hour glass shape, big hips and butt :/ thunder thighs and enormous boobs which I hate, but was still always tight and lovely muscle tone. I used to love my legs. Though I am short and have short legs, they were like my favorite part of me. I want those damn things back lol. I have so much on my mind right now but leave it at this. I tend to ramble sometimes....Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day.

Hi Des, Is there any reason you cannot do a lowcarb/ highfat diet? There are several on here who have lost 1,2,3 hundred pounds. You have to be consistent in logging exactly what you eat so as to stay under 3o carbs and increase your GOOD oils...makes food taste good and easier to stick with... Could you give it a try???

I haven't tried that yet. My diet consists of mostly clean eats. and I usually eat the same thing almost everyday lol. The only oil I use is coconut oil. I rarely eat any fast food/junk etc..I try to keep my calorie intake below 1500. I was doing that 21 day fix that had healthy high fats involved, but found it difficult due to my crazy home schedule. I admit I haven't been working out as hardcore as I usually would cause my kids are out of school for summer. Going to have to change my working out schedule to the evenings so I can have free time. I plan on seeing a dietician as well to find out what I can actually do that is perfect for me, cause I am confused as to why I am maintaining my weight when I should be losing...Maybe its the lack of workout, cause I sure don't eat crazy. 3 meals a day sometimes a snack in between, sometimes I don't even have snacks and yea I suck at keeping my food log on here...I however keep track in my journal.

Clean eats plus LCHF will help. It will tame the hunger beast and get you burning body fat instead of carbs. Lean muscle mass will help that, but you HAVE to get into fat burning mode before it can.

There are a lot of people on here that have had tremendous success with LCHF... it may be worth your time to look into it before you decide on surgery. If you follow it closely, you will know very quickly if its gonna work for you...then you can make your decision. You are in the right place... we are all here to support you in whatever you decide... we just want what's best for you. :)

There really is no reason to get surgery, you're still going to have to severely restrict your intake and you can do that without getting cut up. LCHF is the way to go, shoot for a 70/20/10 macro split which is pretty easy to achieve with an avocado and 4oz of meat at every meal, plenty of water, coffee, and unsweetened tea, you won't be hungry and the pounds will melt off. I've lost 223lbs in less than a year. It works.

What all have you tried so far? The surgical route......hmmm, not a fan of unless you have exhausted all conservative approaches, however, it is your choice.

I have been doing research on hypothyroidism and diet. I have started a group for people wanting to lose weight that are suffering from hypothyroidism. Here is the name: Hypothyroid Sufferers Trying to Lose Weight. I also suffer with hypothyroidism and am challenged in losing weight. Why don't you join me?
