Ashley Sewards's Journal, 23 May 2016

Oh yippie! Another pound gained!! UGGHHHH! Okay, I'm going to complain a little bit now. I am sick of being overweight. I know it's not the worst thing you can be, but I hate it. I don't feel good at all. And I know I'm doing it to myself. Olive Garden fettucine alfredo is not my friend. And neither is taco bell, and whatever else unhealthy I have been putting into my body lately. What is wrong with me? I really need to get it together. Why is it so hard for me? I am in a size 16 pair of jeans right now and I can barely breathe. But I am going to wear them all day just to punish myself lol. And to remind myself why I need to not eat the crap I've been eating. Maybe today will be a good food decision making day if I am feeling extra big. I need to get more self control and fast!! Okay, I'm done ranting. My apologies.

Sometimes we need a rant to get us re-focused!! I have a pair of jeans I couldn't get over my hips a couple of weeks ago -- I kept them out and tried them on every day until, lo and behold suddenly I could get them on! And a few days later, they were actually comfortable to wear!! Perhaps continuing to wear the size 16 jeans till they start to feel loose will give you the incentive you need to continue? Don't give up! You can do this!!!

Olive Garden fettucine alfredo and Taco Bell are friends with no one! I can understand Olive Garden, because you can get minestrone there, but why on Earth would anyone step foot in a Taco Bell?

We all have bad days or weeks. I cannot begin to tell you how many times I have beat myself up over my eating habits. All of us must find a plan that we can make a life change with. For me I have begun again in carb cycling. This allows me to have that pasta or piece of pizza in reasonable portions and still lose. I chose Crack The Fat Loss Code by Wendy Chant. So far it is working for me and I get to have some carbs and stay on track. Good luck. Been there many times.

Hon, we've all been there.......eating crappy food, so no judgement here. What's done is done and look ahead and don't beat yourself up over yesterday because you can't change what happened yesterday. You do have a fresh start and a chance to make better choices today and tomorrow. You can do this.

I still like to get the Taco Bell chicken cantina bowl salad. I have them leave out the cheese, avocado-ranch dressing, and sour cream. With the pico de gallo, guacamole, and moist beans still in the salad, I don't even miss the ingredients that were left out. I leave feeling healthy and happy, for a very reasonable number of calories.

Eating out is the worst thing possible while in a diet. Then they come: soft drinks (ALL of them), processed food, more than 50-70 gr of carbohydrates/day, zero or too much exercise, too low calories diet and list can go on and on ... like in Titanic's song ;-)

Eating out, even at fast food restaurants, is possible. Sometimes, it's really the only choice we have. But you have to make this weight loss journey your number one priority, first and foremost, and make the choices that are in alignment with it. I'm not very good at packing lunches for work, because I've always been a 'mood' eater.. I can't tell in the morning what I'll be in the mood for at lunch. I do LCHF, so, for example, I go to Wendy's, get the "Son of Baconator" combo with a side salad instead of fries, and un-sweetened iced tea. I ditch the bun, and stay on track. Feel good about your choices, and it will encourage you to continue to make the good ones.

You might consider planning your diet for the next day or even the next few days at a time. This will help prevent the bad choices. Make a meal plan and stick to it. You can make 5 salads at one time and put them in separate containers for your lunches all week. I eat the same thing for breakfast most mornings which is An egg, a stick of cheese and a low fat yogurt. Then I just have to worry about a good decision at dinner. Good luck....you can do it!
