If your pants don't fall down in public at least once, your diet will never be complete. lmao

If they do fall down, you can become a charter member of Knuckles club!! (lol) Great news on the engagement ring, maybe you should celebrate your success with a renewal of vows???

Hahaha funny guys! No pants incidents at Target, I had a pants incident several times at home, gotta get rid of those sweatpants ! The renewal of vows idea sounds nice, but it's only 8 years .. Maybe too soon for that? I'm not sure how the renewal of vows goes.

Smarty, often a renewal of vows is done for a "major" anniversary but that is not a requirement. It's simply a commitment to each other, and you can do that any time you want. One organization I know has a renewal for everyone during the month that is designated as family month, and one of our priests used to have one each year on the Feast of the Holy Family, so you can see it's not restricted to any particular time. If you would like to do it, go for it!

Thanks Panda, it sounds interesting and I think my hubby would go for that- he's a bit of a romantic and I'm not.. Hahaha! Thank you, our anniversary is next month, I might just surprise him with it!

I am seeing more and more LCHF success stories. and less and less from the high carb crowd. I take that back, there have been stories of high carbers wondering why they keep gaining weight. Also, a LOT more IF people coming out. It seems we are beginning to see a real pattern emerge. I am not saying high carb doesn't work. I am just saying I am seeing weaker and weaker evidence in its corner.

I hear you Knuckles! I think carb cycling is LCHF way of saying cheated by accident! Lol

Panda, what's funny is that he proposed to me in the 170's, when we married I was 213... Usually brides try to Lose weight not gain before the big day!

I would tend to agree Knuckles. Although, everyone's body is different and metabolizes food differently, so some i'm sure do great with high carb. But you're right, on this forum the scales seem to be tipping for LCHF (no pun intended, hehe). My big concern is that it is super easy to do LCHF in a really unhealthy way. I remember years ago a friend doing Atkins told me her dinner every night was pepperoni, cream cheese and a low carb beer. ugh. I guess she lost weight that way, but what about her body on a cellular level? What about needed vitamins/ nutrients? I am trying to balance LCHF with still eating pretty natural foods. Salads with lots of chicken and avo. Spaghetti meat sauce over sautéed veggies instead of pasta. (I'm no saint though... I am looking forward to a In-n-Out low carb burger one day soon!!) My hope is that people focus on not just losing weight, but on being healthy too. :)

I have been following some of Phil's leads like avocados, and it seems pistachios and cashew clusters from Costco have been good. Phil likes spinach also, and I want to do that more. To me it's about filling foods, that gets rid of the cravings. I also like Stilton Blue Cheese and Smoked Gouda Cheese, because a little taste goes a long way. You can't go wrong with raw vegetables or cooked.

Warren, have you tried cambozola triple cream blue cheese? Its a mix of brie and blue. My fave!! I get it at Trader Joe's. Gonna have to look into the cashew clusters at Costco...yum.

I was thinking the same thing as you Warren, that cheese sounds like the best of both worlds! Warren, what was your honest opinion about Shabu Shabu, would you go again?

The Cashew Clusters are really good. Combination of pumpkin seeds, almonds, and cashews. It is a different taste than plane cashews. Not quite as rich.

LOL Warren.... you could have blamed it on autocorrect. ;) Thanks for the nice words. And I'll warn you...that cheese is addictive! Hope you and Smarty like it as much as I do.
