HOW FRUSTRATING!!!! Eating right, working out, hiring a personal trainer and increasing every day activity for over a month and the scale has not moved. I have come to the conclusion after doing some research that it is most likely attributed to my thyroid condition and therefore, unless I go off of my meds not much will change in the weight department. It almost seems not worth it. It's making a difference in my overall health so I know it is. I will have a my body scan done at the gym at the end of the week so we will see if any progress has been made internally.

If it's making a difference in your overall health and you aren't gaining, then it's worth it. Thyroid conditions make it hard but if you weren't exercising and eating right you would wouldn't be staying where you are at, you'd be gaining, right? Plus I'm sure it makes you feel better too! Keep it up!

I have hypothyroidism, so I feel ya on the difficulty to lose weight. I couldn't tell by your diet calendar, but have you ever tried low carb? It seems to be the only way I can lose. Or, could it be that your building muscle while burning fat so the scale doesn't show a loss? Either way, I think Poniboi said it best... You're still making a difference in your overall health, and that's always a good thing! Just keep at it and don't get discouraged. Eventually that scale will budge!

Have you considered actually logging all the food you consume? For me, this proved eye opening...

I log everything I eat on a different app. Sometimes I use the fat secret one but I have an exercise one on my phone that I use as well so I am very conscience of what goes in. I eat primarily clean so nothing out of a box, no bread, hardly any dairy, I sub out pasta for spaghetti squash, make my own sauces and seasoning blends so I know exactly what is in everything. Once a week I will have a grande Starbucks because it's life and you have to indulge. I am between 1300 and 1800 calories a day depending on if I have an extra protein shake. It took me a month to think to see what other people on my meds were experiencing. First I increased cardio and got even tighter on eating and still the same result. Then I researched the thyroid condition and lots of people said they struggled to lose anything after going on medication.

Interesting, and frustrating I am sure. I have cousins who were diagnosed hypo and both lost like crazy on the meds, for a while anyway. Good luck figuring it out.

I am hyperthyroid, which would be a great way to drop weight, except mine is Graves Disease which comes with a whole other set of effects. My doctor has said he does not recommended going off my med so I am going to eat a lot of the foods that slow the thyroid down in hopes it will lower my dose of med enough that I can go off.

Sorry to hear about Graves, I know it's tough! Thyroid issues are the WORST! Most people think people with thyroid problems simply blame their weight on it and are lazy. But only when you actually have thyroid disease, you understand how difficult it is. It affects so many different things, usually the weight is the only side affect that others notice. They don't see the hair loss, brittle nails, depression, brain fog, etc.... I hope you can find something that works for you. It may take a while, just hang in there and don't give up!

Now I understand. So glad I didn't drop my standard "its obviously your diet" bit. You are among the .001 that definitely DO NOT merit that advice. My first thought was what you are already doing, titrate the dose down until you hit the sweet spot. I know you have already thought of this, but I would try to find someone who has already done what you are trying to do. Gotta be someone out there to learn from... Good luck!
