I know it's a day for Mexican food, but my neighbor caught some codfish and sashimi'd it for us... So, break out the soysauce, ponzu, and wasabi! I made some tataki (admit it's better with tuna or albacore), I made dynamite, and wrapped the sashimi with avocado and seaweed (no rice), really good but went about 100 cals over... Well worth it!

I like food, and that sounds delicious. The wife has been wanting to drag me for sushi for months, but I've stayed resolved. Maybe in another month!

Hi Timothy! Yes Fed-ex or Ups in an ice box! Haha! Phil, you can still do LCHF at sushi- order hand rolls No Rice! Around here, they cucumber wrap almost any fish to have "rolls" for instance, cucumber, avocado (your must have :) and crab and they wrap it in cucumber!! Sushi gets pricy, so we only do it once in a while at restaurants. But at home, hey! As long as it's fresh or else it gets cooked! How's your finger?

I love White Albacore Tuna SmartgirlCA. I been to cheap to pay more for it, but I had some money to go shopping a few days ago. So I finally bought two 5 ounce cans for $3.00 About double the price of regular tuna. But I think it's worth it.

Ok - if you can get fatty tuna sashimi and / or live scallops, I will send the ice box... :) cannot get enough of either!

Timothy, you like Toro and Hotategai but live? That's so authentic! Unfortunately.. My fisherman friend usually gets White fish or Albacore off this coast! Maybe better off at a sushi bar for that! Lol

Joshua, I agree the extra splurge for Albacore is worth every extra penny!

Anyone who loves sushi, sashimi and maki are alright in my books!! Anyone here try "poke? ....., it's pretty common in Hawaii...kinda liked cubed sashimi with various hot sauces or other flavourings...just curious.

Yes Steven! I've had poke, pretty good with the kaiso seaweed (not sure the American name of the bright green seaweed, is it kelp?) hey!! That's low carb! All these awesome ideas, thanks!

Yes - live is great for scallops...(Hotategai) - try it! Toro is incredible from my perspective. I am a raw fish type of person and have not "met" any sashimi that I won't try or eat except baby octopus (just can't get past that one and it's probably pretty good...). So you know the real names of the dishes, so you eat a lot of fish as well, have Asian in the background, or just love sashimi as do as I. Oh yes, I like poke' as well!

Yup Timothy, half Japanese you guessed it! I don't care for baby octopus but I eat the Geso aka tenticles. I wouldn't mind it chopped up in the form of takoyaki but it's not raw. I like Chu toro too, the medium fatty toro. Love white fish with yuzu kosho. We just love sushi/sashimi don't we?
