tzav2016's Journal, 03 May 2016

So I started my journey almost a year ago to the day. I did great for a while and then I gave up. I kept telling myself I could have a little of this and a little of that. But then I got out of control and then I would start again. Then I would make an excuse to quit.

Now because I have not followed through. I am in a world of hurt. I am diabetic, I have known for almost 3 yrs and have chosen to take the "I do what I want approach'! Wrong thing to do. Because here I am at 47 yrs old, not on insulin yet, but close to it. I have neuropathy in my right foot and leg. My eye sight has gotten worse. I just over all feel like dirt.

Dr visit April 25th did not go well. I have been advised to eat healthy, lose some weight, and get off my tail end. So the first week I did great. I lost like 7lbs, then the weekend came. I didn't do so well. And gained like 5lbs back.

So now week two has arrived. Started out not so strong. But have my head in the game today. I looked in the mirror this morning and noticed my tummy seems to be shrinking. I put on a pair of pants I have not had on for over a year. And I have room in them. Go me...

But there is still that little devil in the back of my mind that is telling me to eat the next piece of junk food I can find.

I set myself at a small goal so I can make results instead of the big picture that terrifies me for some reason.

Go on Amazon.com and look up reviews for a book called "Becks Diet Solution". It's not a diet book, but helps you change the way you think about food and your behaviors. It teaches you step by step how to make positive changes in your life and might help you get on track. Weight loss is hard. We need all the help we can.
