So it has been almost a year since I have been on Fatsecret, and since then my life has changed dramatically, mostly for the better.
Since then I have gotten my Associates Degree, I have moved 1000 miles away from my hometown in Iowa to the beautiful and majestic Colorado, and I have welcomed a new addition into my life, my son Elvis!
... And I have added 20 extra pounds to the scale.
However, I have to say I'm pretty proud of myself and I'll tell you why.
I have completely changed my eating habits since March. I saw a candid photo of myself and that was it! I have had it! I no longer want to be considered Large or Extra Large.
So since seeing that one photo I have adopted a WAY healthier way of eating. Lean proteins, Veggies, Fruits. NO fast food, minimal sugar.
I have also taken to running, hiking, or if the weather is lousy Jillian Michaels at home work outs! (She kicks your a$$, btw)
I feel amazing and I'm seeing results in my legs, arms, and waist!
About two weeks ago I bought a scale. I was so exited to weigh myself I practically tore my work clothes off and jumped on. I'm thinking, " I've been plugging away at this for a month, let's see some numbers."
I get on and what do I see...1 pound down. I could pee and lose a pound!!!
I was so frusterated however that hasn't stopped me and since then I am another 5 lbs down!
Things that keep me motivated are:
1. My boyfriend and my son, always pushing me to be a better human.
2. The way I feel, better and better each week.
3. And the countless stories online of weight loss success, reading these make me really excited for the future.

Fat secret is the next component to the equation.
I'm glad to be back.

Hopefully by now your scale has been nicer to you! It may help if you establish some rules on when you weight, both for consistency and incentive. Always weigh in the AM when you first get up, naked, after you use the bathroom and before you eat or drink anything. That way your weight isn't affected by your intake or what you are wearing (and in the winter, especially, that can make a substantial difference, although blue jeans and sweatshirt can make a difference too.) And you will be at your lightest for the day, which is always good for morale. Good luck on your journey, both weightwise and personal!

Thank you for your advice on the weigh in. Very true that the timing can make all the difference. When I first bought my scale it was 11 pm when I got off work, so not a smart move. Lol
