another week... no loss .. *sigh* ..... keeping calories at or under 1000.... it's not helping..... my sister is coming to visit in a little over a week. I hope she has advice... she did it. she did what I want to do... it took her 3 years though.... getting frustrated with myself.... do I go back to under 20 carbs a day and just deal with feeling sick?? I feel fine now and am maintaining weight... so do I just suffer the sickness and then eat like this when I'm done losing? why can't I find a middle that works? probably my impatience.... I still have LCHF meals I made in the freezer.... what if I did that then dedicated one day a week to have fruit? wonder if I'd still lose or I'd just kick myself out of ketosis anyway and all the low carb would be in vein... is it really all or nothing for me? .... well atleast I'm not gaining while I figure this out...

just typed this out but the picture was fuzzy.... here is an example day of a plan I'm working on to kick me out of this funk.....

breakfast -
1 Avacado, 1 egg, 4 Celery Sticks

lunch -
1 Avacado, 2 cups salad, 2 oz Deli meat (ya ya deli meat, not the best choice but I'm usually under a time crunch at lunch, meat short cut needed)

dinner -
8 oz chicken, 1 cup Brussel Sprouts, 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast

snack Options -
1 oz Almonds
1 oz Pecans
10 Olives
1/2 cup Raspberries
1/2 cup Strawberries
1 meddium Starfruit
1/2 cup shredded Coconut meat
1/2 a Lemon

on days I'm extra hungry I could have more vegetables or an extra portion of the snack menu.....

Question, did you lose more weight on the LCHF? And the SICK feeling go's away after about 7 days if you drink enough water and MAKE SURE you get enough Salt, magnesium, calcium, and potassium. That will blow the Keto flu away.

I was on lchf for over 3 monrhs. I lost over 30 pounds. I was getting horrible cramping and it was hard to move. ya a multivitamin could probably help that. but I'm also uncomfortable eating so much fat. maybe I'd try a low carb high protein but the extra protein won't work either. .... so where does this leave me

If you were eating fruit you may have done just that if you were ever in ketosis to start with low-carb diets do work but they don't work overnight

As far as the constipation and the low carb diet drinking more water definitely helps if that does not one dose of Metamucil or generic take Metamucil somewhere during the course of the day will help to keep you normal but fruit even though it is not bad in and of itself has a lot of natural sugar in there and that is definitely something that takes people out of ketosis

You have to eat and not starve yourself to lose weight. Your going to get yourself sick and it will be bad in the long run

I feel you...frustration is part of dieting. Seems like EVERYONE dieting has weeks of nothing but as long as we stay focused we will continue to get healthier! Look at your weight chart and you know you are doing great! Carb cycling sounded good but I haven't done it..yet. The CLAIM IS, "With carb cycling, the body is never deprived of carbs long enough to slow the metabolism, and is able to get into a catabolic fat burning state on the low carb days. try raw kale salads and make sure not to eat after 8pm (6pm is best for 'loss')

Little lady, you just answered your own question then. Go back to LCHF. Don't worry about the fat. There is AMPLE evidence out that has proven beyond a doubt that HIGH FAT will not hurt you as long as it is REAL fat and not synthetic or GMO veggie oil. On the contrary, good dietary fat is beneficial for you and will make you healthier. Look up the studies. You were most likely cramping from a potassium, magnesium and sodium deficiency. And multivitamins DONT have enough. Especially potassium. I am betting you were most likely OVER hydrating and peeing out all of your electrolytes. You said it yourself though that you lost 30 lbs in 3 months was it? Ohh and if constipation was an issue the magnesium will fix it. If you got constipated I can almost assure you that you were Electrolyte deficient. And you don't want to do high protein either, because the protein you don't metabolize just gets turned into sugar then right back into fat. I would shoot for 70% Fat 20% Protein and 10% carbs or something similar to that. And MAKE SURE you get your electrolytes. ONLY drink water when you are thirsty. That water thing about drink 8 glasses a day or you need this much is kind of a myth. You are NOT dehydrated if you wait till you are thirsty to drink. DONT be afraid of the fat lil lady.

I know low carb works. it does. I don't deny that. I just think it's effed up that you have to take fiber and pills and stuff to function on LCFH. ... yes it works, it worked for me. but after 3+months of it I felt horrible... everything hurt, constant cramps in my arms and legs, my skin looked awful and I felt like general garbage..... carb cycling might be something to look at... raw kale... ya that was next in the list actually! this week I was gonna try green smoothies in the am, kale salads, and soups. ....... ya I know high protein won't work :S that stalled me before. maybe I do have to go back to LCHF but not cheat with bacon and butter... avacados could be my best friend. .. F! this is all so annoying....I'm eating fruit and veg and not one stupid notch on the damn scale. I gave up tonight and just straight up had a peice of pizza........ like i feel great but I'm not losing. I'm just doing everything wrong. I don't know what the hell is going to get me to lose while still feeling healthy... so what... do I go high carb with veg or low carb with veg...

Well if u just had one piece, good job! R u able to try the 24 water fasts? I did mine from 8pm to 8pm once a week. Then the 16:8s the rest of week. Hope u find something u love soon!

20g a day is way to low. Carbs are misunderstood in most diets. If your body hits starvation mode, it will try and hold onto every calorie you put in it. Straining itself, making you tired, lothargic , etc . You need a well balanced diet and some form of excersise routine. Because the second you start eating what you want after your diet you'll gain all that weight back as fat and loose any muscle you have.

Hmmm...I do LCHF and drink a ton of water and seem to get enough fiber through nuts, avocado, a few berries, low carb flax crackers,,,I know you are struggling to sort things out. 1000 calories is pretty low. I actually stall if I go too low. What if you ate 1200 calories of what you want to eat like some fruits, veggies, dairy, whatever?,,just operate on calories in...and then exercise enough to burn fat...calories out......good luck!

I am glad you are still analyzing what is going on in your weight loss journey...I feel that you will hit it sooner than later due to the fact you are thinking out side the box....as long as you feel good it would not hurt to mix it up some...as long as the scale doesn't go up...i see your determination...thats what counts.

I've had to add benefiber to my daily routine. My low carb means low fiber and no regular 💩 regularity. Once you get things moving the scale will be moving too. Lol

And vegetables contain sugars naturally, sugars are carbohydrates, so be smart with veggies pick ones high in fiber content.

HCB. .. I've been eating a ton of food ... like i use my salad spinner to wash lettuce and then use the big bowl as my salad bowl lol!! I think Im going to cut all fruit... maybe a plan like breakfast - egg, avacado, celery.... lunch- avacado, salad, chicken ...... dinner - chicken and broccoli (meat and veg) ... it added up to 18 net carbs... has move healthy stuff than when I did LCHF last time... plus I won't do fasting because when I started that's when things started going south for me... and I gotta cut down on coffee and just have water or hot clove water.... I should add raw almonds to that menu too for snacking .... ok.. I think that's what I'll do. HCB do you think that sounds alright?

Avocado has great fiber and high fat - but good fat. I would not overdo avocado if you are watching fats - you will figure it out. When I first was here on FS, I calorie counted and exercised and lost weight. You can do it!
