Just try to forgive yourself and learn what can trigger you. Nobody is perfect; we're always learning <3

It has been said that you we can only control today and tomorrow. We cant control the past. So forget about it and battle on!

Remember that feeling for next time and use it to help yourself avoid the next binge. Don't be hard on yourself--it happens to the best of us!

Triggers can be hard to overcome, you need some contingencies in place. Really strong replacement flavors work well for me, one reason I drink a lot of coffee. Sometimes that's not enough, though, I'm not above taking a swig of soy sauce or worcestshire sauce (just a little bit, about a teaspoon full) straight out of the bottle. It'll really blast you with flavor and help you creep past those cravings.

I only binge on crap when I don't have healthy alternatives within reach. Now I keep energy bars & water in my car & at work. I also don't let myself go home if I don't have fruit, nuts or SOMETHING healthy to much on because I know that when I get bored at night I will just run to the gas station and get something I shouldn't have!

You mentioned that you thought it would make you feel better. Did you really think that or was it just something you did 'cause it's what you've done before? I'm not trying to "challenge" you here - I only ask the question because I've been there. My rational brain knows it won't help the situation, but the eating is just a response. Sometimes really *thinking* about what will get me over the hump instead of food can help. I do hope the next time is easier for you to manage in whatever way you get there.

Ive heard that sometimes thirst can be mistaken for hunger. If it happens again drink a glass of water then in 15 minutes if youre still feeling that way you probably are hungry.

Emotional eating is a challenge - can you find alternatives to food that 'feel good" such as bubble bath, buy a bouquet of flowers, manicure, etc.?

Use this experience and remember it. Let it remind you of why you are leaving that lifestyle behind. And remember this also. GOOD FOOD is never fast.
