So our church has a 28 day challenge to get closer to God. We were encouraged to choose 1-2 things. I chose eliminating gossip ( both giving and receiving), and a one day fast every Wednesday for the month. I was/am quite conflicted bc I didn't want to sound pious and say it was bc I would use my hunger periods to get closer to God, when the truth was really weight loss. I decided to rely on faith. I asked for strength. It worked. It was tough but it had the intended effect and I am grateful that
