BuffyBear's Journal, 27 September 2011

So glad I got off my lazy butt Saturday and made these lemon poppy seed MIM's. Unbelievably tasty!

Last weekend I also had ventured off to an upscale food store - not in my usual budget! I picked up some different herb tea, salad dressing, preservative free cold cuts and sausages, etc. Had to use some restraint and got out of there for $40. Trust me, it could have been much worse.

So far the pound I lost yesterday is still gone, but with all these goodies I'd better watch my portion control or I'll see it back.

Hi BuffyBear !!! The lemon poppy seed MIM sounds AMAZING !!! How do you make them ?!?!? :)

Lewlew - you eliminate the cinnamon and add lemon extract and poppy seeds and extra Splenda. I'm at work now (recipe is home). Will send it to you tonight.

That does sound good. I'm back to eating a MIM every morning at work (just easier than eggs) and don't want to eat the same flavor all the time. Looking for different ways to make them. Could you send me your recipe also? Thanks.

Bren - I agree. It is better to have a planned snack than an unplanned cheat.

Buffy, may I have the recipe too please? Congrats on making it out of that store for $40, I can't even do a regular grocery store for that!

Buffy - I'm also interested in the lemon poppy seed MIM's, please ! Also, do you make a batch of MIM's when you make them. So far I just do one at a time when I want one, but would be handy to have a couple around just for convenience... I remember you sent me how to make a batch, but I can't find it. Any advice, please !

Glad you're doing well. I can spend a fortune at the discount stores stocking up. One nearby has canned things - and if you buy enough it sure adds up. Buy everything on sale when you can and you will save in the long run and have a pantry filled with everything you need to eat healthy...

You did well to get out of the store for only $40. It's like a birthday when I find lots of nice goodies to try. Do you mind also letting me have some details of the sorts of things you put in you MIM.s - do you need to decrease any of the other ingredients when you add different things? Well done on your lb. lost, steady as she goes.
