Addie Aline's Journal, 17 March 2016

Day one behind me so on to day two. I know it will be a difficult day because I was up with acid reflux most of the night and last time some of you told me about pickle juice or celery well they work but you've got to have them in the house. I can't chew celery right now and I need to buy the pickles again. This has been a more often problem since my doctor put me on a prescription potassium which I had to stop taking because of acid problems from it. So I decided to up my over the counter potassium and I think it's causing it too. So I'm going to go down to the regular dosage and try to get more from food. It seems finding the right balance is a real problem for me.

Does anyone know anything about Aloe used for acid problems? I would appreciate any input.

That's all my news so I hope the day is going well for all of you.

I will loose this extra weight because I want to and I need to. I will do it ONE DAY AT A TIME!!!

I just use indigestion tabs when I need to. Luckily I don't often need to nowadays.

The only thing that has ever worked for me is apple cider vinegar. You need the natural stuff. You put a tablespoon in some water and drink it. After a couple of weeks, it went away. The vinegar balances your ph in the stomach or something. I was suffering so badly and nothing worked till i tried it. Crazy! (vinegar would be in pickle juice).

I agree with Suzi... I use Bragg's NACV. It definitely takes some getting used to, but it's very beneficial. I usually heat a mug of water, then add 1tsp of vinegar and squeeze a lemon slice in it. Hope you find something that helps with the acid, that's a terrible feeling.

I have been having a glass of celery juice every morning to help in my digestion... I really think it has done the trick..no more acid reflux. Even my husband has asked for some! Not a typical breakfast food but do-able!

My husband has severe acid reflux issues and has bad reactions to the medications different doctors have put him on. We keep the apple cider vinegar in the house, when it gets really bad he will put some in a shot glass, fill it with water & slam it back like it's a regular shot. That provides him with the fastest relief. But, when he will stay on them, he takes the capsules. I don't know if you can find them just anywhere, we always purchase at the health food store. It controls his symptoms as well as the prescriptions without the side effects. Give it a try.

I agree with the Apple Cider Vinegar and also try lemon water . I add a few drops of Stevia to fresh squeezed lemon, add water and ice.

@Mom thanks for he lemon suggestion if I can't stand the vinegar I'll try he lemon juice. It would be good if the vinegar worked because it's easy to keep on the shelf.

I use a lot of lemons and limes with cooking and making drinks that are low carb. It helps with fluid retention, too.
