AmazingGrace114's Journal, 16 March 2016

It's been a long time since I've recorded a journal or even checked my account on here and I miss it, so here goes! I've been stalled since October/November and hit a rough patch in December when I lost my job and went home to Ohio for the holidays. Something clicked for me mid-January for me and I've gotten my ass in gear ever since and have been doing fasted cardio most mornings at 7am and weights at night with my husband and yoga on Wednesdays :) I've been following a keto diet for the past month and have lost 7 lbs since. I am 16.8 lbs away from Onederland and once I am comfortably there I will reevaluate my goals. In October 2013 when I got RNY, I told my surgeon I wanted to be 150lbs but I think that might be too small for me. I have a naturally hourglass shape and a lot of muscle so I think 165-170 might be a more comfortable weight range for me. BUT I want to be far away enough from 200lbs because I plan on NEVER seeing that number again!! lol thanks for allowing me to vent, I guess that's what we're here for... see you tomorrow!
217.0 lb Lost so far: 121.8 lb.    Still to go: 37.0 lb.    Diet followed N/A.

I too got a little lazy and neglected FS. So I drank and ate and ate and drank and did not exercise much and as a result put back on 20 lbs over 6 months. What scared me was that I was creeping closer to the 200 lb mark that I worked so hard to get away from. So back on track and am slowing inching away from that 200 mark. Yipes I never want to see that again! Keep moving forward!

That 200 mark is like the dreaded black line that I cant wait to get under! Congrats to get realizing the error in your ways. Today marks my 31st day of tracking my food and exercise on MFP(it syncs with my Fitbit-easier to use for me).. the thing is that I haven't really gained massive amounts of weight, just stalled. I'm tired of being stagnant and am ready to get to my goal. I found that the more places I am active regarding my journey (I have an instagram dedicated to my weightloss, facebook groups, MFP, Fitbit, and here!) the more I succeed so I just need to utilize my resources a bit more.

I'm not an alcoholic, but I think dieting and what's needed to succeed in AA are similar. It requires a "for today" attitude. If you try to lose too much and then have a setback, it can be like a drink for an alcoholic. FS is your "sponsor". :)

Haha, that's exactly what it's like!!

I love the comparison to AA, because it's so true! I have also noticed that every time I stop logging food I either stall or regain the weight I lost. Welcome back to FS, good luck on your goals!

I had my RNY thirteen years ago. Picked up thirty pounds after surgery on both knee and total disruption of diet with not eating due to drug therapy, withdrawal from drugs, rediscovering food, and then trying to appease a ravenous appetite. Process took fifteen months before I reaffirmed my control. I know exactly what you mean about never going back. My goal is to loose thirty-eight pounds and reclaim my pre-surgery level of activity.. Like many people who undergo RYN, I have a sluggish thyroid. Thank goodness for increasing medical knowledge in the areas of why and how we gain weight. Things are a lot brighter today than they were over a decade ago. Be encouraged. With your resolve you'll be alright and you will keep moving forward!
