warrenwinter's Journal, 11 March 2016

Hello everyone, and happiest of Friday to all! I absolutely pigged out yesterday, and should be ashamed, but lets face facts, food taste good! lol Oh well, better fast today, but my wife slipped a disc in her back, and is laid up. Need to fight off the bad diet influence. Hey everyone, have a great weekend!

Warren's Diet Tip of the Day: You need to switch from being a sugar burner, to being a fat burner. Force your insulin levels to drop, and HSL, the enzyme present in your fat cells, will not be blocked. This will allow it to release free fatty acids into your bloodstream. As a result, not only will you lose weight, you also will experience a surge in energy, which will create more movement, which will give you more calorie burn, and faster weight loss.

I have started eating 4-5 Tablespoons of coconut oil a day to boost my Thyroid. The first day I did this I lost 2 lbs. It is not recommended to start out with that much coconut oil so research if you decided to start eating more fat. I have noticed I am not hungry and not craving carbs. I have energy and I feel full.

I finally got my coconut oil. I like the taste of it. Interested to see how it goes.

Now I am curious. 4-5 Tablespoons sounds like a lot of calories. I'm trying to figure out how much to consume?

Hmmm, bacon, egg, sausage all good for low carb high fat - the beans are all carbs and sugar though...

Switching from sugar burning to fat burning is the basis of a ketogenic diet. Carbohydrates are your enemy when you're trying to make the switch, even complex carbohydrates provoke an insulin response. Amylase begins the breakdown of starches into sugars as soon as you put them in your mouth. When you reach ketosis, fat burning, you have to maintain low carb or you will bounce out of ketosis and back into sugar burning mode and that will keep you from losing weight.

Beans are still a good source of nutrients and if you can stand the taste of them (I hate most beans, the smell and texture makes me gag), they are actually a superior form of protein for diabetics as well.

Remember it's not all about the calories but the nutrients. I was consuming that amount for months, I think I went thru six jars. I wasn't logging back then but kept an eye on my weight and those cals didn't make me gain any. Right now I've got mine slathered on my body bc I am peeling like never before!! I wish I'd have taken it with me I would have prevented the peeling process! Oh well it's so hydrating. And I cooked my eggs and spinach in some for lunch. I like it. Have fun in Vega$ baby!! Lol. Save some winnings for me!

Beans are ok on a maintenance plan, but not for actively losing weight.

Thanks for all the comments! The pic of breakfast was just something off the internet. Sitting here at NYNY texting on FS! Trying to figure out what I'm going to do tonight. Would like to walk to Aria. When Aria first opened, and the economy was shot, we'd get comped the corner building suites there. We been in some cool rooms, but nothing like that. It's the bathtub that is in the exact corner of the building. Like your bathing off the edge, so to speak. Wish I had those pics. The coolest rooms in Vegas!

Thanks Misty! Give me more suggestions for the coconut oil sometime. Hope it's not as windy tonight. I love the NYNY Piano Bar. Sometimes I come here with my buds, and they like to party a bit. My wife is hurting with her back, and I'm starved. Lol Oh well!

someone, I think yesterday, posted that your body absorbs the oil when used as lotion and it should be counted as calories. I had never heard of this. Anyone else know anything about it?

That's a great question! I use lots of crazy skin products. I'm a sucker for all of it. One lady cried when I stopped doing her skin products. Lol
