Good morning, healthy people!
Not a stellar day for me yesterday, sorry. I did okay at the potluck - most of my plate was salad with little tastes of the other stuff, but I did have an oatmeal raisin cookie at the end. Plus, Lee worked the early shift so was home when I got home (a WONDERFUL THING) and we went shopping and to dinner. The meal out and no time for the exercise made it a 3 star day (instead of 5).
SO all the snacking of the week did show up on the scale this morning. I seem to be having a hard time getting very far away from 150. I think part of it is, I'm actually kind of comfortable at this weight, so am not stressed about losing at the moment. I DO want to lose more, so I can be in that magical "NORMAL" weight range on the BMI tables, but I'm in no hurry. As long as I'm still eating healthy foods the majority of the time, and exercise is something I enjoy, I'm in a good place.
Today, I may be getting new pair of running shoes. The running store near us sponsors our running club(Striders), and is having a 25% sale on shoes and clothes for Striders members. Can't pass that up, even if my current shoes are still holding up! I checked and can't do better online for the shoes I want.
It's a beautiful day today - warm for the season - so we're going to the Lake to walk today! Yay!
Have a wonderful day full of healthy eating choices, joyful movement, gratitude and FUN!

Shopping for new running shoes at 25% off sounds like much fun!! I think it is okay to be comfortable where you are weight wise ... there really isn't any hurry and it seems to me the longer you maintain in the range where you are the greater the likelihood for long term success. It really seems like you have made a genuine change in your lifestyle ... you are a healthy, strong, woman!!! I don't know if I'll ever be in that magical "NORMAL" range on the BMI tables. I'm not sure it is terribly important to me. When it happens it will happen ... if it happens. In the mean time ... let's just both continue to be healthy!!! Have a great weekend Amy!!

You are happy and content and that is good. When you feel like losing you will. I need some new runnin shoes. What brands were you looking at? I never know what to buy and mine are starting to bite the dust. Have a great day with your hubby and shopping!

I know exactly what youbot mean about 'normal'. Its so easy to let your journey become less important and less hurried when you have achieved a great deal already and can see the results and maintain them. Sometimes life's ups and downs get in the way but I'm sure we're all going to make it in the end. Have a good weekend both

It's good to hear that you are comfortable at your weight... and that is all that matters right now... I hope you are able to maintain this weight and if and when you choose to lose more weight, I know you will be able to do without any trouble.... Enjoy your walk and your shopping trip..

Sounds like a good place to be! Funny, I just pretty much posted the same thing about being happy where I am at too even though I am 2 lbs up from where I want to be! We are healthy and strong and yes, a few lbs lighter is always welcome, but we are feeling great and that is a wonderful thing, isn't it?! What kind of running shoes are you leaning toward? I have done some research on ones good for underpronation (high arches) and will try those out sometime. I'm curious to know what you found.

....and you're only up a couple of pounds. I can gain or lose that much in 1 hour, potluck or not! Isn't it fun shopping for new running shoes? I think I'll buy some when I've lost 15#s or when a good sale comes along...whichever comes first.

Hi all, I had a pair of Asics that I liked very much so I just ended up getting the same style again. AND they were on sale for less than it would have been with the 25% discount! Great!

Asics are very nice, but I can't wear them cause I have a high arch and the ball of my foot is wide. Saucony is my all-time favorite fit. ...And that's everything you never wanted to know about my feet. Now you've got me excited about new shoes...think I'll go weigh myself to see if I'm any closer to my goal; then go online shopping for the new models!

Asics are great sneakers. And it's pretty much never too soon to replace your running sneakers. Livelife, I have high arches and I underpronate. Asics are good--but it really depends which model you buy. It really pays to go to a good, local running store staffed by people who know what they're talking about. About the weight--if you are comfortable then I would not stress the scale. Keep focusing on feeding your body what it needs. I just heard something the other day--that when we love our bodies we can often then move on to the next level. So maybe it will happen without a struggle.

Also--those tables are based on some average, generic person. Even when I am was very thin, way back in college, I was well in the bounds of normal--even though I was wearing size 0 pants at 5'7" and most people thought I was too skinny. The tables don't take into account muscle mass or your body frame.

When I get a new pair of NEW BALANCE 1220 series (foot heaven). I always feel like taking them out for a run-something about new shoes makes me feel energized. I just bought a whole tub of iced oatmeal cookies from TJ's so I better go get a new pair of shoes stat!
