oh yes i like the idea of the wine but the cigs can wait.... 

meh... he didn't even give me the cig... I got zip... and I only had one mini bottle of wine (single serving) while i made dinner.... and it was crappy.. luckily the food was good lol ...well... I'm GOING to have a better day tomorrow now that this valentine's nonsense is over.....  

Glad we don't bother....in my eyes it is only another hallmark day. Oh and it is tomorrow :) 

if I didn't do anything the kids would be dissapointed. they don't like it when my husband and I don't get anything either... so I made the older boys and my husband gift bags with some chocolate, deck of cards, games, little books, and a card according to their personality. I got the 1 year old a new teddy bear .... I got my husband a t shirt saying "best husband ever" .... he pulled it out looked at it and laughed ..then said " I didn't get you anything ..and the baby smells" .... he didn't even try to make a card last min like he normally does.... whatever... the 1 year old was cute... so that cheered me up... but next year I'm not doing anything.... there's no point. definitely not making my husband an Easter basket this year either...  

You could always explain it to the kids. My daughter has never given me a mothers day gift (as I requested ) . I told her that I like to be loved and appreciated all years round and not on a calender stipulated day/date. Give it a go. Their reaction might surprise you. 

Well at 13 and 9 they are influenced heavily at school from teachers forcing the occasions ... *shrug*.... I just need to stop giving my husband thoughtful crap and getting my hopes up and do it all strictly for the kids.
