Addie Aline's Journal, 11 February 2016

Had a really rough day yesterday as I said earlier the 18th is the 1 year mark of Merlin passing and I had to go get my allergy shots. There's no place like being in a car to get your mind going and it did I couldn't shake it for the rest of the day and evening. I'm sure some of you will understand this and some won't. I just kept thinking of that last evening and the next morning and cried most of yesterday.

I didn't post my food after breakfast, there wasn't much to post anyway. I couldn't use my treadmill because I'm not suppose to after my shots. I plan to today hoping the exercise will relieve pain and muscle cramps I got up with this morning. It could be from stress or maybe the potassium pill my doctor put me on isn't strong enough. It's kinda strange my foot and ankle were hurting so bad I couldn't sleep this morning but when I got up and stood on it it was ok. It's still that way when I sit it hurts and pulls but if I stand it's ok.

I haven't got my lab work back yet, it might tell me something.

Hoping to have a better day today. I plan to cut the meat up to make a goulaush and the veggies so all I'll need to do tomorrow is brown it and put it in the crock pot. I don't like having the butcher do it I'm never happy with it when he does it. But it is a time consuming job.

Hoping everyone has a good day and keep up the good work.

I will do this because I can and I want it and need it. One day at a time.

I am so sorry you had such a rough day Addie. It took me a while to get over my Boxer Champ. He was such a wonderful, smart, noble and funny companion to me. I respected that dog more than I do a lot of humans. You never forget them. We have two crazy, sweet dogs that have filled our hearts now, but they don't replace the ones you lost. They are their own little souls. Your goulash sounds delish!

Thanks Mom, I think the little guy took a chunk of my heart that I'm not sure will ever heal. I wouldn't give up the wonderful 14 years he gave me for anything, even if I knew the pain that would come later.

You know I truly understand because I am an animal lover especially cats. Merlin is warm and happy somewhere being spoiled like he deserves. How are the others doing now?

@HCB, thanks for asking about the other cats. Marcel the one you see next to my profile is 13 and doing good, really good since we were told he wouldn't live past 3 years old (so when their tested for things don't give up, his suppose illness has stayed dormant) he's a fat young man and on BP meds. He almost grieved himself to death when Merlin passed he barely ate for 3 months and he has lost his voice because of the stress he barely makes a noice. He gives me a lot of love and I do to him too. Sable will be 16 in May that's 80 human years she lost her hearing a year ago (old age the vet said) it doesn't seem to bother her she has asthma and arthritis but is very happy when my DH is at home she moves around slowly but as soon as my DH sits on the sofa she's looking at him saying pick me up. So we're blessed to still have them.

I had one who was three months shy of turning 20 human years when she passed peacefully.

I so hope when the time comes for Marcel and Sable that they pass peacefully in their sleep. But I hope that's not anytime soon.
