Goodness, I don't know it this is the over 40 thing, the fact that I love wine and enjoy it most nights or what... I've been exercising 3 times a week, and really tearing it up both cardio and weights for over a month and not only am I not losing weight I am gaining weight. I did quit smoking on 1/4 so I guess I shouldn't be upset about gaining 2 pounds but I am feeling rather frustrated. I've been mostly eating healthy foods. I guess all in all, I have been eating far from perfect. Some friends have said losing weight is 80% diet and 20% exercise so I guess I really do need to focus on what I'm eating which I really haven't been doing except to make sure I'm using healthy ingrdients when making meals. I haven't kept up with all the snacks I've been eating. I reckon it is time to get a grip... I am ready to be sexy again... shoot.. not even for my husband but for myself! HA!

You are already sexy!!! Congrats on quitting smoking - makes you even more sexy!!! The experts keep saying you can't out exercise a bad diet - so the nutrition is important - don't beat yourself up - and keep up the good work - you will get to whre you want to be :)

Thanks~ "40" has been really hard.... I need to get over myself! HA! Seeing it, saying it, seeing myself in the mirror... blah blah blah... time to get over it and embrace it right?! Yes, I do need to watch what I eat... I do great for meals, we eat super duper healthy scratch made wholesome meals. I think it must be the snacks and sugars that don't really seem like much but it seems like I put it near my face, and the weight comes back on!

Hey there, just to calm you down a bit: usually when you start lifting weights your body not only gains muscle but also retains water a bit more. Just keep doing your thing, watch your calories :) good luck!

There is "healthy" food and Healthy Food.... You appear to have a combination of both in your diet. I'd say weight loss is 95% diet with only 5% exercise. If you can walk that's enough to start with, more is not always better. But start logging accurately, you're not able to see trends developing without being fully accountable to what you're eating.....Good Luck!

I find I have to track all calories, and it's really about reducing them on average. Other factors (salt, sleep, water, etc.) cause temporary variations, but the trend over time is all about keeping the calories down.
