RJBurke's Journal, 28 October 2009

Yup, I known it, it's official now... I'm a geek. It's funny how little things bring up the past, I was talking to friend last night about what to get for dinner (more like what I could eat), and something we used to say in boy scouts popped into my head... "When in doubt, don't eat the sprout." ... it was something that was taught in wilderness survival, by one of our leaders about the dangers of eating just anything when your hungry and lost... ~laughs~ That sure can be applied to dieting in a forest of fast food and gourmet restaurants when making smart food choices. Eat what you know is safe, and you will be alright. I guess that is the moral of that little story.

On another note... Just did a weigh in (254), and I am almost at another goal... almost 250... my size 40 pants are not so tight anymore (down from size 48s - 8 inches...yes!). I went out and bought a new shirt (Large - much better then the 3x I started this diet on).

So far the stress of catalog deadlines, teen sons gone wild and a crazy x-wife, may be a great diet plan... simple. It's the "No time to eat is a good time" diet. Did make it to subway yesterday for a garden salad, ate my jello I made for snacks for dinner. Then the above mentioned friend stopped over for a few drinks... yes drinks....but with a little research, you can have one or three now and then. vodka, with diet cranberry juice mixed with a bit of died green tea to sweeten it up.

Today another day of page layouts, and eating salads... ~grins~ ... Good luck everyone!
