What the heck? So based on that no more veggies today and I am having chicken wrapped in bacon for dinner!

I eat a lot of spinach

A LOT better carbs than a Ben & Jerry's lol. That's why I get a lot of my "veggies" through Amazing Green powder in my smoothies. Awesome stuff! Gotta admit I got a good laugh out of that chicken & bacon lol.

tomatoes and onions have a lot of net carbs.. I usually stick to leafy greens and celery and try and kale to everything. some one said once, if it grows below ground no good, above ground , good. See if that helps. If your doing induction 12-15 net carbs should be devoted to veggies.

Yeah I add baby spinach or kale to my smoothies all the time as well.

Spinach is marginal...kale has 3 carbs for a half cup?? According to this food calculator anyway ... And forget about sugar snap peas they are loaded with carbs! I'm not doing induction. I shoot for under 25 net per Advice I saw here and will see how that goes as my body adjusts. Matt - so not a joke. I'm going to wrap that thing in bacon and perhaps cover that in cream cheese. Have net decided yet. Having weird food fantasy day at my desk whilst reviewing mind numbing spreadsheets. Mmmmm. Bacon. Mmmmmm.

LOL! Quite fine! Yeah I don't do a lot of those items, just mainly for the health benefits (juicing nut here) uncooked and in the blender and hidden with organic cacao powder & almond milk ;)

I would get rid of the powdered creamer for sure, that's 3g carbs....

Good list here for Atkins low-carb dieters: http://kitchen-parade-veggieventure.blogspot.com/2008/01/how-many-carbs-are-in-vegetables.html

"Good as opposed to a raw roll of pills bury chocolate chip cookie dough", some of the stuff you post cracks me into stitches. lol

I guess there's good carbs and bad carbs, but I'm learning that lesson too! Fruit has SO many carbs!! A banana has 30 carbs alone! I mean, I'm not giving up fruit because it's healthier than other crap...but sheesh! It's messing me up!

veggies can add up quick but they are better than bread or other "quick" carbs like chips, etc.

or you could just ditch the whole lchd fad since it is a shamockery anyways

Alone4ever might be onto something.

I wouldn't recommend giving up veggies - of all the things to eat, they are probably the best source of vitamins. 24 carbs? You can walk that off in 15 minutes, go for a walk instead.

You can't walk off carbs. You can walk off calories... 24 net for a whole day isn't bad, but is more than some LC dieters prefer. I struggle with this too. Getting enough fiber without drowning in carbs!

I pretty much pack all my carbs into my one meal of the day, give or take a very few. I am on a brussel sprouts kick right now...

just a few thoughts: lots of good veggies are low carb, but i see on your diet calendar you're eating sugar snap peas ("sugar" in the name clues you in they are high in carbs), tomatoes are fairly high in sugar as well. pre-shredded cheese has stuff added to it to keep it from sticking together. shred your own cheese to avoid these carbs, lots of cheeses have no carbs. you can do a google search for low carb veggies, then stick to those. good luck!

Always check the nutrition information before you eat and avoid the starchy and carb heavy stuff. If you really like sugar snap peas only eat a couple of bites and you can limit the insulin response they provoke. It's a myth that LCHF means giving up vegetables and when you learn how to do it right you can incorporate a wider variety of "taboo" foods into your diet without compromising weight loss.

look up the ketogenic diet, it is very similar to the hflc plans and there are some good food lists on their sites.
