Life is good. I am sitting here with my husband and my daughter, both of whom are dressed in their Green Bay finest, watching the game. Our lap tops make noise as we concentrate on homework in between plays. I am reading through posts of my fellow weight-losing-mates and am encouraged by all the weight loss. I wonder, though, if anyone has the same experience I do....
I've picked up and dropped the same 15 pounds for over 20 years. My highest recorded weight was 163, but I am sure at times it has been more. When I reach a point of "enough!" I diligently count calories until I am back at a manageable 140 and then usually let up and the pounds come back. Because I have done this so many times, I have come to recognize some fun things about my body...
* Weight loss begins at my feet and works its way up my body. * When my knees begin to appear thinner, then it moves to my face. * After my face thins a bit, it moves to my arms. It is at this time I notice I look better and begin to feel better. * Then my thighs begin to thin out and I can actually see the new dimples of space - where fat used to be - appear overnight. * The last to go is always my stomach fat. When the stomach fat goes, I know I have "arrived". * During the process I begin to get a feel for my body and can tell when wake up in the morning that the scale will most likely show me a weight loss.
Fun stuff. Does anyone else watch the crazy thing we call our body? :)
Blessings, Julie
