mysterious shrinking lady's Journal, 07 September 2011

The constant rain and the cooler temperatures are beginning to have a negative effect on both my brain and my bones. Looking on the bright side, I am pleased that I have bones to ache and a brain capable of recognizing this fact. If I had no bones, achy or otherwise, I wouldn't have a skeleton to hold my ample flesh together. I would just be a big bouncing blob of fleshy fat or fatty flesh, depending on how one looks at these things. I would almost certainly be forever friendless. Who would want to be friends with a blob featuring fat and flesh? Certainly not I!

I ventured out into the rain today to drive myself to my appointment with Dr.B, pain relief specialist. He said that since none of the injections he's given me have been effective in relieving my pain and he can't see any point to injecting me again. I concurred with his opinion. He commended me on my weight loss, and said that Dr. F is going to have to decide what he wants to replace first and get on with it. He is sending his notes to Dr.F and Dr.J. I see Dr.J early tomorrow morning. Dr. F has decided to take another vacation, and I won't see him until October. Dr.B and I will not be seeing each other again. "Parting is such sweet sorrow", but I just might get over it eventually!

G was in somewhat of a tizzy today. She was going to drive me to my appointment today, but she "just couldn't go out in that rain". The rain didn't seem to bother her this morning, however. While I was in the shower, she decided to mail a card at the Post Office and then go to the ATM at her bank, which is right next to the Post Office. According to G, this is what occurred. She successfully maneuvered her way through the Post Office parking lot and dropped her mail in one of the drive by outdoor collection boxes. and she didn't hit a single one of them! She then turned into the bank and got in line at the drive up ATM. Oh, goody, it was finally her turn! She couldn't find her ATM card. She went through her purse again and again. She dumped everything out of her purse and frantically searched through the contents. Still no card! She looked under the seats of the car. The other customers behind her are getting rather perturbed. G can never get close enough to the machine to be able to reach the numbers and selection keys. She exits the driver's seat and opens the back car door to search under the seat there. She was dressed in a floral nightgown with long sleeves. Over that she wore a house-dress with short sleeves that was about four inches shorter than the nightgown. This article of clothing was blue and white checked with yellow birds as accent here and there. On her feet she sported sandals worn over thick white socks that came half way up her calves, but were not covered by her nightgown. People behind her were now downright aggravated and showed their displeasure by tapping on their car horns. An employee of the bank came out and told her she needed to move her car out of the way and perhaps she could conduct her business when she'd gotten herself together. G was royally ticked off! "Just because people see a nice little old lady, they think they can take advantage of me!", she proclaimed. She was so upset that she didn't know what she had done with her credit card! This made her head dizzy and she couldn't control the shaking. Her stomach required immediate sustenance! Good thing that McDonald's was just across the street! She drove through McDonald's and got two breakfast sandwiches to bring home to settle her nerves. The Egg McMuffin was devoured in the five minutes it took her to drive home. Voila! Her credit card was found! She had gone Krogering yesterday and had put the card in the coupon organizer after using it to purchase her groceries.

Oh, the sheer drama of it all! Just another day in Paradise!

LMAO.... Oh MSL, what a sight G must have looked in her floral nightgown... What ever posessed her to go out like that!! The people in the ATM queue, must have thought she had escaped from the local mental home lol. I am now going to tell you off..... Do not describe yourself like that, (I am not even going to repeat the phrases you used) it is giving you very negative thoughts.... Think about your GOOD points - and there are lots of them to think about - ok telling off finished :-). I do hope when Dr F and Dr J get Dr B's note, they will get a move on organising the schedule for your op. Sounds hopeful..... Good luck with your appointment with Dr J, I do hope you can journal some good news :-). Xx

How exciting that things are seemingly ready to progress with your surgeries!!! A step in the right direction, for sure. I'm praying everything will fall nicely into place and you will be getting your surgeries soon. As for Ms. Drama Queen.... If only somebody had had a video camera to capture that whole incident and put it on youtube with your vivid description of the event. She would be a star!

Hope Dr. F will go along with Dr. B's suggestion. You deserve the surgery with the great job you've done on your weight loss!

Skinny, I consider myself to be properly told off! To be fair, G doesn't usually dress or go out dressed that way - at least not often.

I agree with you Tracy! I'm sorry to leave Dr. B. also. At least he stated clearly what his intentions were for treatment and carried them through as soon as possible with no hedging about. Dr. F could take a few pointers from Dr. B!

Buffy, I will indeed report on my appointment with Dr. J.

Thank you for your support, PK! In regards to G, giving her star status is a very scary thought!

Thank you so much Kim! The one positive thing about having to wait until October to see Dr. F is that it gives me a few weeks to lose some additional weight!

Thank you Heather! If you'd like, I could send G up to your house and let her entertain you!

I had one just like her, Pam -- a Costa Rican Lucille Ball, who I just knew had to be the basis for the antics on the show. I spent most of my childhood "mortified" and stopped being seen outside in public with her by 13. At least you still go out with G. I never found my mom entertaining, but I find your mom hilarious. I guess it's just a matter of perspective. You both are welcome here ANY time. And Ruby's right. That book -- that series of books is long overdue.
