Woohoo! Another 800 grams off! This means that I am at a new, lowest weigh-in of 93.3 kgs! Strangely, this happened on Thursday morning last week also. I wonder if this is a pattern that will be consistent? I am curious about this, because Friday I gained massively before yet another massive loss Saturday morning. I don't like the yo-yo-ing, so I'd rather be without all that. Well, we'll see. A new, lowest weigh-in like this is great, and I already feel that I have accomplished a goal for the week - though I'd appreciate a Saturday morning weigh-in of 92.x or less! :)

I've been asked a few times what my next goal is. Let me briefly address that.

I think I don't have a new specific goal. I've been thinking if I should put my next goal as 90 kgs. Then, I thought, why should I? I feel like I have already accomplished my goal - and then some. I am not done losing weight, and I perfectly realize this. I am not done reshaping afterwards (actually, I have barely started doing that). However, I don't feel that I need a goal to reach for. I don't feel that there is a need for a specific goal any longer. What I do to lose weight is by now - after 11 months - simply habit, and I love doing it. There is absolutely nothing that can move me from losing weight until I am done done, and afterwards it's probably still gonna be hard. I gotta admit that I like the blue ticker on my page and I would hate to see it gone by putting a new goal, I like to see the weight now going BELOW the blue line on the weight history. I originally set a goal of 110 kgs. That's as low as my mind could grasp that I could possibly reach. That's 16+ kgs ago. The 16 kgs alone is a lot!
Come October 4th, I will have done my weight loss journey for one year. Also, if things act like they have lately, I will reach 89 or 90 kgs by then. That leaves 10 kgs before I am at the "normal" BMI (which I don't really worry too much about). So I kind of figure that I will go with this intensely for one year, then sloooowly start working my way towards maintaining.
I think my approach to this is to add 100 calories to my daily intake every two weeks or so. Along the way I will do exactly what I have been doing for the last year, count calories, weigh in, report in my journal and on my Facebook. After two weeks, if I see that I am still losing weight, I will then add another 100 calories to my intake. Then go two weeks again, etc. This way, I will inch my way towards maintenance, but also be able to lose what will consider the final little bit before "normal BMI".
The only real reason I have to be focused on BMI is that Danish law states that I can get a government paid operation to remove excess skin if I reach "normal" BMI and stay there for a certain amount of time. I am going to the doc tomorrow to hear more about this, and to get my blood pressure medication adjusted (hopefully taken off completely).

So to answer the question "What's your next goal?" I think the answer will have to be "I'll keep going for a while, then maintain. I don't have a final goal number, and I don't really feel that I need one".

No, let me just say this also. This is PURELY my view on this right now. It might change later today, it might not. I might suddenly announce 79 kgs as my next goal. You just never know. :)

I hope this makes sense. Life is good!

Whoa.... New low weight, Fan bloody tastic. I understand how you feel about your ticker, if you set a new goal, it may feel you are going backward - you won't of course - it's physiological. You must do what feels right for you, so you can continue on your journey. Good luck for tomorrow :-)

Woohoo! Incredible success, you are an inspiration! You have surpassed your own expectations! It must be amazing to be at a weight that you have not been at for many many years, like unchartered territory. Anything could happen now! I think your maintenance plan sounds very reasonable, but I am sure you will lose some more weight without trying too hard. Well done :)

Thanks, Lara. I was just telling my wife this morning that I vaguely remember dieting in business school when I was 17 years old (I'm almost 42 now). I just barely made it under 100 kgs, and obviously it didn't stick. So yes, I weight (a good chunk) less than when I was 17. :) That is SO wild!
