FatGirlJenny's Journal, 29 January 2016

I haven't been on lately, because I've been so focused on research from the Fat Summit and other webners.

I just had to stop in an ex scream for a second. "WAYYYYY TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE WORRIED ABOUT HEALTH CARE, AND WAYYYYY TO FEW ARE WORRIED ABOUT CARING FOR THEIR HEALTH!!!!" It's really a sad world that we live in where people are lead to believe there is a magic pill for EVERYTHING! The only magic that exists is the one that we creat!

SN... this was not aimed at anyone here. I've just been going through some real life situations lately with loved ones eating poison, and then complaining that they are dying. Sorry for the rant. Just a little frustrated.

Have this happening in my family. BIL in hospital/rehab going on 4 months. He had several heart attacks, diabetic, 13 stents. Symptoms all began 15 years ago but kept smoking, eating crap, "but I'm taking my medication". On dialysis 3/week and had a bypass done today to his leg to save it. How many hints does a person need.

Well said FGJ! I can sooooooo relate! DH used to be so buffed. Still appears strong, but looks are deceiving. Long suffering from chronic pain/fatigue and serious health complications and refuses to consider the LCHF or juicing greens w me. Just to give it a try. And the affordable health care act aint affordable! Our insurance skyrocketed from $400 monthly premium 2 years ago to last year $800 for the same exact plan to $1800 now! And so we had to switch to another ins for $1100 mo. and they still won't cover everything. It's been a nightmare. And all doctors/hospital staff and pharmacists say it is even worse experience for them. They argue continually with insurance companies and don't get paid or get the patients what they need. My FK's Dr has 3 office visits that haven't been paid for since last year and yesterday sent me the bill! The SW and I have been going round and round with all of them. Sorry to vent. Personally I like Dr. Carson - sorry to go political on ya too... overhaul the IRS and Insurance companies. HSA & flat tax for everyone would make me stand up and cheer! On a positive note: I was getting bummed out because my weight plateaued for about 2 weeks even though I was changing my diet and activity/exercise. Then I decided to fast and pray. Hallelujah! Yesterday dropped over one pound. This morning dropped another pound and my metabolism is working great now. Apparently I needed to really purge my system kick start it again.

Absolutely, billion dollar drug companies pushing drugs, often knowing they are dangerous and EXPECTING eventual lawsuits for pain, suffering and death before they even come out. Wake Up America!!!

Yes, and those people keep tempting us to join them. We have to be strong and educating ourselves and hopefully we will rub off on THEM!

I recently heard that sick people do not want advice. (Who likes a ninny?!) They want comfort. So as we get healthy we can give them lots of hugs and pray they will see the light.

I wish there was a like button for the comments. I really don't blame it all on the individual. I think that the Dr.s have not been trained well enough to even treat patients on certain matters due to pharmaceutical companies funding the schools that train them. Hipocrotis, the father of medicine, says "Let food be thy medicine". If "we" have known this since the very beginning of medicine, it can only be the greed of those who are in a position to profit that can be to blame. Then again, I sat talking to a dear friend that I hadn't seen in a while the day that I posted this. She began to tell me that she had had a heart attack, stints put in, diagnosed diabetic, had high blood pressure, high bad cholesterol, depression, anxiety, arthritis...I mean, you name it. I started explaining to her what I had learned about how to heal disease through diet. Her response was, "I would rather die than give up my bread & sugar." Shocked at first, I'm thinking "well, that's your choice". Later, as I couldn't get it off of my mind, I'm thinking if what I had told her would have came from her Dr.s mouth her response would have probably been different. I'm hoping everyone will please sign and share the enrich act petion that I shared in an earlier journal.

I totally get your meaning. My husband once said, when he used to go to church with me. He would find it ironic people would complain about so many health issues and ask for prayer, things that were brought on by poor lifestyle choices be it food and exercise, but then when there were potlucks everyone would gorge themselves on so much fat and sweets.

I think the reason that I'm so into healing myself is that I lost 7-12 years of my life pretty much the depression. The first 7 was absolutely chronic, then I started fighting. None of the meds the dr. gave me helped. I missed parts of my kids' lives (not to mention my own) that I feel like I can never get back. During those years, I literally prayed to die. Now, all I want to do is live and thrive more and more. There was also the fact that I kept getting sicker and sicker physically.

@Beth...I agree, but did you know that the new dietary guidelines (Jan 2015) actually lifted it's war on fats, and started a war on sugar?

I see.

*lifted war on fat to a certain extent (still suggesting a limit on saturated fat, but it's a start)

Bless your heart, I am glad you're still fighting. Going through depression myself, I understand.

@Beth... my fight is over. I am as happy and worry free as I was at 16! 😁 I give all of the praise to the fat I've been feeding my fat hungry brain.
