Good job. I, like you, prefer to get most of my veggies in predigested form. That is, previously eaten and digested by the critter that's been seared and is smoking on my plate.

Ha ha ha wanna hear the funny part? I've been vegan and I was vegitarian right before this... I've thrown my beliefs away to lose this weight. I keep having nightmares that I'm home alone with my 1 year old and have a heat attack.... I can't do that to him... so if it's animals or my son, I choose my son. maybe when I've lost the weight I'll go vegan again but this weight loss comes before anything like that... this is the only thing that's been working in a long time ....

I feel bad enjoying this diet lol

ROFL. That's good stuff. Hey, you're saving the planet. A human produces far more methane from veggies than herbivores do. Save the world, eat a cow! :D

Wow! What a drastic change in diet, hunter. Now I know you ARE serious, about shedding the ed weight. If you're THAT serious, you will make it. No doubt!

I she'd a few tears when I bought all the meat... but ... *shrug* do what you gotta do... didn't lose any weight eating beans...

Don't fret, you're not eating Bambi. Livestock are noble animals, but they only exist for others to eat. You're results speak volumes!

I believe everything has a soul and animals have feelings.. maybe not to our extent but non the less there. so when I eat I have to thank them atleast. I'll stop when I hit my goal and find other means to maintain. but non the less... I said I'd kill to be a healthy weight for my son ... I wasn't lying. so I have to make it worth it.

I'm a hunter, but not a redneck plaid wearing (okay, I wear plaid) beer guzzling, shooting roadsigns type of hunter. I am far more connected with my food sources than most. That being said, I always take a moment after harvesting an animal to thank God for it and I often get close to shedding a tear for it. It's an odd thing, to be willing to take that life personally and yet feel a little saddened by it. Most people think meat comes from the grocery store, and they try not to get their hands yucky while getting it out of the package. I could show you yucky. You wouldn't want to see it.

I admire that, Northernmusician. My take on what and how we eat is that a person is always taking a "life" to feed. So are the animals AND vegetables we eat. And anything that is alive will die someday, eaten or not. It is just in the nature of physical existence that we all serve each other in some way. But I am a hypocrite because I'm not sure I could personally kill an animal unless in desperation. Eating from what you hunt is healthier fare than what we typically get in a store.

I too didn't use to eat meat, still eat very little beef, I chose the LCHF WOE because when I tried it I felt so much better. I do miss fruit and starchy carbs but even when I reach goal I will probably stay with LCHF because I like feeling better and I loose so slow it will be a way of life. Yes I do feel sorry for animals it's taken awhile to not thinking of their eyes when eating it does get easier with time.

I respect that more northern. you see the animal. you say thanks. and I'm sure you put it all to good use. eat what you kill. my old city was small and surrounded by farms... you can see them ... and you know the meat section is full of beings that were breathing, feeling, and scared. and I'm scared for myself and my health. I thank each one for the sacrifice and I will return to a plant based diet again ... but i need fast results and this is doing that. but actual hunting for food?? that's much more meaningful and atleast THOSE animals really lived first. they had a chance.

addie. it's not so much that I want it to be easy... I just want to make sure I pay my respects. I want their souls to know i recognize what happened..... I guess I'm part hippie lol... I'm not missing breads and sugars.. fruit is nice... I miss beans lol that was my old "meat" because I refused to eat soy too so no tofu dogs for me. lol fattest vegitarian ever LOL ha ha ha ha !!!

As with all things in life, giving proper thanks should be a habit.

exactly. :D and I have a great many things to be thankful for

I loved steak but decided to stop eating it. The way animals are mass farmed/killed is horrific and there are a lot of dumb drunk hunters out there killing or maiming for fun. I think someone who hunts consciously for food and eats it all is different, its about respect for all life.
