The Not Typical Dot Com
I decided to organize my kitchen cabinets again. It's been about a year since I last took everything out and wipe the inside.
Last year about a month after I started WW I put the bread machine into the back of one cabinet. I was quite strong back then, just starting out.
Today that forgotten beast looked me in the eye. I had flashbacks of those moments a year ago when I tucked it away in a tearful manner.
Now that I haven't been losing all those pounds so fast my determination has a dent in it.
For a few moments that Bread Machine stood there on the shelf and LOL @ me, almost saying, "I knew you would be back".
I took it off the shelf, made a pit stop in the pantry for the large Tupperware filled with White Flour and the smaller one which had yeast.
Arms full I turned toward the prep counter
and walked right past it, marched out the door, down the sidewalk and knocked on the neighbors door, the one with the 5 skinny kids. She answered the door with a baby balanced on her hip and another clinging behind her thigh.
I told her what I had for her, marched it into her kitchen, fired it up with a bread batch, did a quick run back to my house for the two cook books "The Bread Lover's Bread Machine Cookbook by Beth Hensperger" and "Best Bread Machine Recipes: For 1 1/2- and 2-pound loaves (Better Homes and Gardens Test Kitchen) by Better Homes and Gardens Books and Jennifer Darling ", did a stop by my freezer to grab two pounds of REAL BUTTER and gave the whole KABOODLE to her.
She was dishing out lots of "WOW I always wanted one, ohhh it smells so good already" but then as I was leaving she said, "I'll bring you some over when it's done!"
The temptation to be polite and accept reared it's ugly head, but I turned and thanked her but then warned her to not do that. I even pointed my finger at her and said, "NO! I am giving it to you because I am not supposed to have that kind of bread. It would be too tempting for me."
So now here I sit, feeling exhausted from winning my battle with the bread machine.
