Sometimes I just feel like giving up. Losing weight is so hard. I'm letting "losing weight" consume my life. I cant stop thinking about food and/or my weight everyday. I'm just tired of this... What really drives me crazy is watching television and seeing all these "fit" or "fit and pretty" women and I wonder how the hell did you stay fit and with all these temptations out here in the world. I'm trying so hard to stay on track. Mentally I feel im doing bad but everyone says losing 12 pounds in just a little while is great. Maybe it is.. but i dont feel like it is.. I see these people on the "Biggest Loser" lose 20 pounds in a week and I get discouraged.. Why can they do it and I cant? I ask myself that all the time.

I get the whole diet consuming your life-been there many times and it is easy to fall into that. I think it is difficult not to for anyone here because you are either focusing on habits or losing weight. Either way you end up consumed by one of them because it is what you are focusing on. It gets easier over time. At some point it even becomes automatic. TIME is the thing. Give it to yourself. You deserve to treat yourself as a dear friend would and you would never hound a friend to go faster would you? Of course not! You would celebrate all the loses no matter how quick or how much. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~As for the biggest loser question----You can not lose like them because you are not starving yourself and exercising 8 hours a day with two personal trainers and nutritionists and and and....see what I mean? those shows are inspiring to some but they are so heart wrenching for most of us. No one can live up to what those people accomplish. NOT EVEN THEM! If you look back at the old contestants almost every one of them has gained the weight back! Losing weight so quickly is not good for our metabolism, our muscle tissue or our mental health either as far as I am concerned. Slow and steady wins the race.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yes, it can be overwhelming at times but I think finding a plan or program that works for you is key. I have tried them all and failed miserably until I began my journey using Intuitive Eating. Others say they can not do that plan. That is fine. Finding what works may take time but it is so worthwile! {{{{hugs}}} I hope your frustration level goes down and you find your groove! :))

Shows like the biggest loser set up regular people for unrealistic expectations. I don't know anyone who loses like that without tons of outside help. You have lost a lot of weight in a small amount of time. You need to adjust your expectations. You are putting too much pressure on yourself. Plan out your meals so you don't have to think too much about it. Then get out and do things you enjoy that don't include food. Losing weight is hard. Being overweight is hard. You just have to choose your hard. You are doing great!!!

I don't want to reiterate what has already been said here so very well. So, here's my take, this is your life and your body, it's not fair to judge yourself based on a show that is nothing more than entertainment. Like everyone here knows, yes it's hard, yes it gets overwhelming, but we can all achieve what we've set out to do and yes, that means you too. Don't you think you deserve the time it takes to be the best you that you want to be? This journey is not for the faint of heart, it takes a tough person to do this work, but it also takes a tough person to withstand the blows that come with being overweight-which one seems a little easier now?
