mammasix's Journal, 05 January 2016

So the New Year starts off on a poor note. I am laid off officially today. Christmas is my favorite holiday, but lots of stuff seem to get in the way of enjoying it.
Trying very hard to stay upbeat and not sabotage myself. On the positive front, I am nearly done with my Master's degree and have tons of time to work on the last course and capstone. I have also picked up a few self-improvement courses on programming.
Anyone looking for a talented IT person for remote work...

Don't let fear take over...I know it's hard. If you aren't already on LinkedIn, look into that (PM me if you'd like to connect there). It's become a fantastic tool to do research and connect with people. The good news is that you have a gift of time while you're searching. Working on your Master's, time to put you first in your day, extra education on things that INTEREST you and make you a better IT person. You can do this. Really. Keep breathing :)

I agree with Newnormal! Use the time to finish school, network and think about what you really want to do. And, you have time for food planning and exercise, too. Apply for unemployment - you should be eligible after a layoff.
