Nivie's Journal, 10 December 2015

Wow, I can't believe I'm seeing this number. I actually ate pretty badly yesterday...overdid it on the salted peanuts and didn't eat on time at ALL. So I just hope this number is for real and not a temporary fluctuation, especially considering the random spikes this past week.
Gosh, 60 kgs! I can't believe it! That's what I've listed as my 'dream' goal up there in my bio.
My initial goal was 65 kgs (143 lbs)! I could tell, as I've been getting closer, that this can't be my final number. I'm still not fit and still look 'plump' overall. I know my goal BMI-wise should be closer to 56 kgs (123 lbs)...but I could never dare to hope I'd be within touching distance of that before now. So that's what I'll set as my next (possibly final) goal.
My main goal when I started this journey this time around was to see what it's like to be fit for once in my adult life. I've never tried it! I know this won't happen without some exercise though...that remains my main challenge now that I'm relatively on track with the food.
Anyway, that's something to keep working on, along with the next 5 kgs (11 lbs). I took a bit of a break for the last few months. My scale wasn't working and while I didn't really go off plan, I did sort of...just maintain. And I really think that's helped. It gave my mind and body time to assimilate all the changes and more importantly, appreciate them. I'm so thankful for ANY progress at all, never mind reaching numbers I can't even process.
I started this journey 22.6 kgs (50 lbs) ago, so if there's anyone just starting out and feels overwhelmed, please know you'll be there before you know it. Just take it one day at a time. Time's going to pass anyway, you might as well be a little lighter each day. If I can do it, so can you!
Thanks so much, FS, for helping me on this journey. I know the main challenge is maintaining it. That's been my main focus from the beginning. So I don't intend to treat this as much of an accomplishment until I actually keep it off and prove that this is a way of life for me. That said, certain milestones do deserve to be mentioned and reflected upon, thus the rare mid-week journal entry!
