Kabella_'s Journal, 01 December 2015

I've been doing a LOT of baking recently, practising for Christmas - lemon curd, cupcakes, welshcakes, choc chip shortbreads, peanut butter cookies, to name a few. OBVIOUSLY Thhey need to be tested - a lot - at various points, bowls licked etc..... I've also noticed I've had a lot of hypoglycaemic crashes...think they two are related??? Time to quit those sugars, they are wreaking havoc with my body...Anyone else struggle trying to manage a sweet tooth?

I love sweet things. I've cut out a lot now, and in some cases switched to versions with artificial sweetener. One thing about biscuits, cakes and desserts is that they are not only high in sugar, but in fat as well. They are basically calorie bombs, and generally contain few nutrients apart from carbs and fat, so not good food value. And, we always eat them as extras, or 'treats'. If you actually wanted to gain weight, they would be very good things to eat!
