Okay if there is cake you have options say no thank you, have just a little sliver (yes sliver) or have a big chunk. What I would is say no thank you unless it looked like an amazing cake then I would have a little sliver just to get the craving out of my mind.

Thanks guys. I think I'll try to pass on cake. Office cake is never as good as my mothers cake so that should be only a moderate challenge. (if it was cookies then it would really hard cause I have always been a cookie monster, its my kryptonite)

That there are a lot of poor quality desserts "out there" is a saving grace for me! It's a lot easier to pass up pies, cakes and cookies that just aren't anything special. Another mental trick I use is to remind myself that just because I don't eat it today doesn't mean that it won't ever be available again. Scarcity thinking can ruin a diet.

When I think about cheating with deserts, I know that I will "pay the price" in several ways. Therefore, I think about the best of the best to cheat with, which takes me away from the office cake situations. If I'm going to cheat, it's gotta be extra special and I relish every tiny bite. It really helps to pass on the mundane. :-)

Awesome advice guys. I agree on cheat for only really good food. I also think the "Scarcity thinking" could be a problem I use to have.

Congrats! Try to make good choices navigating the challenges Friday, regardless it's just one day, just keep on with what you've been doing to get to this point.

Well the Office cake went quick enough that I really only had to avoid the temptation for a few minutes. the cake people ratio was off (office space anyone?) so their poor planning was actually to my benefit. Also before going out to lunch today I quickly ate my carrots before hand and they partially filled me up. I didn't even touch one olive garden bread stick!

You're doing great! (Ha ha, loved "Office Space.")

So you just said "NO" to that bread stick, very nice, that takes some discipline!
