This week I am working on converting some of my old recipes into low carb recipes. I am making stuffed cabbage rolls for my daughters birthday tomorrow and instead of using rice I am using grated cauliflower. I usually use brown sugar in the sauce but I am going to just add a little Splenda instead.

I wish I could convert the chocolate cake. That's alright I will have an Atkins bar instead of cake. I have noticed that my taste buds are starting to change. The Atkins bars taste sweeter now than they did 2 weeks ago. Plus I am getting better at liking my veggies and wanting them.

Speaking of Atkins bars, in time I will start to taper away from them. I will only have maybe 1 or 2 a week at best. My main objective is to try to break my addiction from chocolaty sweets all together.. If I don't break my addiction I will never be able to keep the weight off. For me it's no different than an alcoholic. I know someone close to me who weened off alcohol and then went cold turkey and hasn't had a drop in over 10 yrs. He said it was much easier that way. I do believe that is what will work for me also when it comes to chocolate.

I love to use cauliflower for most of my meals, stuffed cabbage sounds yummy. I have found that when I eat chocolate now like Russell Stover sugar free choc, I don't crave it at all like I used to, it is the strangest thing to me. I had a piece of Birthday Cake last weekend and it hasn't made me crave more carbs. So I am hoping that I have trained myself off of carbs and choc. But I will never take it for granted that, that is the case.
