I have always had a problem with snacking - I love snack food. Even though I've tried very hard to eat right - have stopped purchasing any prepackaged foods - have cooked more from scratch meals than ever in my life - I have failed to give up chips. I could literally make a meal of chips - any kind of chips.

As a results - I'm no closer to my goal weight. I've actually gained weight and my new jeans are now too tight to be comfortable. I'm very frustrated with myself.

So I'm going to try a new tactic. Chewing mint gum - instead of snacking on chips. I'm now on day three of this new tactic and so far it's worked pretty well. But today is Football Sunday. Can a person really watch football and not eat chips? And blah blah to carrot sticks and the like. But we'll give it a good try.

Wish me luck all.

I can totally relate to the salty snacking + football watching combo (although I'm more of a college fan) . . . 'cold turkey' may be the best way to go for you, or have you considered/tried somewhat 'healthier' chip alternatives such as pita crisps w/ hummus or organic chip/snack brands like Beanitos or Late July? They're sort of my 'compromise', although it still requires 'regulating' and limiting myself to one serving (or no more than 2, but any more than 1 serving means compensating for the extra calories by reducing elsewhere in my food for the day).

Hey there. Try making kale chips. They are really good.
